Hi guys ,

I'm currently vegging under a 400 watt mh, 4 plants in a 4x4 tent 6 ft and a bit tall.

I ran 400 watt hps last time during flower but didn't meet expectations in a 4x4 tent.

Looking to upgrade to a 630 watt, either dual 315 or double ended 630.

My options are .. sunplix 700 watt dual lamp fixture- https://www.sunplix.com/product/sunplix-700w-dual-350w-ir-dimming-grow-light-fixture/

Sunplix 630 DE - https://www.sunplix.com/product/sunplix-630w-double-ended-cmh-grow-light-fixture/

Growers choice 630w DE - https://factoryhydro.com/products/growers-choice-gc-630-cmh-fixture?variant=32372156936

And finally and probably the cheapest option

Fusion bright 630 watt DE - https://www.growlights.ca/growlights/grow-light-kits/ceramic-metal-halide-lights-cmh/dimmable-fusion-bright-630w-cmh-complete-kit-double-ended-de.html

Growlights also carry a dual 315 watt CMH for another 50 bucks or so.

Like the look of the 3k-R bulb for the added red spectrum from growers choice.

Which would you all say is the best all around fixture for my needs. If the cheap one would work and save me some cash, I would certainly consider that route.

Thanks !

Best spectrum is single ended Phillips 315 3100k and its best par is in a dedicated vertical open reflector and run with the new standard base on a low frequency square wave ballast.

I would want 2 for a 4x4 tent. A double bulb 630 reflector would be awesome in a tent. But it’s a lot of light.

I’m sorry I can’t comment on the new double ended cmh. I would use an hps de if I had higher ceilings. And supplement with a 315.

Growers house has the best prices on name brand cmh.

The thing with dual lamp 315 is the option to run both colors in 1 fixture.you could run a 3100k and 4200k lamp at once and go full cycle like that.

I've always heard the for whatever reason, the 630w DE cmh tend to have one burner darken more than the other burner. thus ruining the full complete spectrum. and at that point instead of just replacing 1 315w bulb. you have to replace the entire 630w bulb. I ran a 630w dual bulb in a 4x4. To be honest....probably a tad to much light...some might not agree. But when factoring in the sides of tents sucking in a few inches on all sides. makes it more of a 3.5 x 3.5 ft tent. As well as you want roughly 36-40 inches of space between canopy and fixture. my plants saw some light bleaching on the tops still. the 630w fits my 5x5 tent PERFECT. it's a very nice footprint evenly distributed. during winter time I add in another 315w cmh into my 5x5 for a total of 945w of cmh. that's probably the max amount you would want for a 5x5. But Michigan grower Is dead on about the Phillip's bulbs. the 3100k is like the perfect bulb. Full ass spectrum and fantastic UV output keeps your plants as healthy as growing them under the sun. no exaggeration there. my stalks are literally lime green, semi soft flexible skin, and will stay this way through harvest. The best bulb for veg is the Phillips 4200k. I begged out my entire 5x5 tent with just a single Nanolux 315w fixture. Vertically mounted. first two pics are when I was vegging in the 5x5. last pic was taken 2 nights ago. just hit 2 wks flower today
