Double Potting

Hi,
So here's what I'm thinking about.

You are in 10 days into flower and you decide to go ahead and give the double pot method. Your medium is Fox Farms Ocean Forest in the existing and new pot. So now we have the nutrient exhausted ffof soil with fresh nutrient rich ffof to grow into. Top the pot off on with some more new ffof on top.

So my question is will the nutrients in the new soil be enough for now? Will the roots growing into the new soil supply enough nutrients or do I need to lightly feed to make sure all roots have nutrients closely available? Will the 1 inch or so top off of fresh ffof solve this?

I ran into this during my last grow using happy frog. I up-potted from 3 to 7's in week 3-4 of flower. I fed daily with Nectar for the gods, so I cant answer your question about if the new soil will be enough till the roots get ot it .. but most likely not. You its gonna take 3-6 days to really get some new roots into the new soil so most likely you will need to feed still. Also, look into using a bit of "Recharge" when you do up pot, you can sprinkle it around the the old root ball befor putting it into the new pot .. and then mix some with water and lightly water over the top, this should fend off any transplant shock.

I did 5 Pots from 3's to 7 .. all 5 plants were in the 3 layer deep scrog net ... I was only able to do that cause I had fabric pots I could cut with a razorblade and could slide the new ones right under. Plastic might be different.

Anyone else, it's been a week since I have went with this method. I see plenty of new roots out the bottom drain holes. How well will this 30% new ffof soil supply nutrients to the plant?
