Double stack Rubbermade Grow. From Seed - Noob 1st Timer

Looks good in there Chibzilla. One thing you'll want to keep an eye out for though is that you don't want your string to be tightly wound around the stalk. It will choke the stem as the plant gets bigger and will prevent nutrients from being to shuttled to the buds as easily and affect the yield. A lot of people use pipe cleaners or special bendy wires that have rubber around them made especially for plants and fashion them into a hook shape to LST...that way you can keep the plant down without tightly encircling the stem.

Hope I'm not coming off as a know-it-all, just trying to help out! I ended up finding out after I had choked one of my plants and wished that someone had let me know before having to find out the hard way.

I got the pipe cleaners at a dollar store in a large pack, should be pretty easy to find them.

No problem at all, I was already aware of that so my sting isn't too tight at all

I had read the same thing and thought I had it all good but when I cut my last plants I did see 2 spots on one plant where it had been getting choked. I love the pipe cleaners idea!

So things are moving along great. HGK is almost done and I'm thinking I'll probably get a half ounce or so off her.
Chemo is really starting to fill out, will probably yield more off it her than the HGK
Rockstar is rocking away, Growing like it's being trained by some kind of invisible force lol.

So I've been feeling a bit bored with my setup lately, It works great for what it is but I have a wardrobe that I hardly use that I have a hunch that it may transform into a bigger sanctuary. Too lazy to explain my plans now but I promise I won't let you down

I see a lot of snow on HGK so if you're going for cloudy trichs then 2 weeks maybe just my guess. The girls are looking damn fine, I got a auto blue cheese that looks at a similar stage to rockstar minus a few leaves. they grow so fast when their young

So it's been a couple weeks since my last update, Mainly because there isn't much of a point because I don't grow in my rubbermaid anymore.


Anyways, I finally chopped my HGK down yesterday night. What a weird experience, I was actually kind of depressed in the process. I kept the main stem for a memento
Chemo will be finishing in another 25 days or so then my rockstar will take it's place where I plan on growing a 4-5 ounce plant.
This is what I'm growing in now a days, I'll probably add more lights for when my rockstar is ready and bump it up to 225 or so watts of CFL fury






Here's some pictures from the past week or so of her life.
I fed her plain water for about 10 days and flushed with 4 to 8 galons of water each time, Turned some pretty funky colors!













The harvest, finished with way more than I expected. Lots of popcorn nugs but who gives a shit for a CFL first timer, I'm not complaining !
I may have let her go a bit longer but she was yellowing pretty dam bad so I just said screw it.

Mine as well show my harvest.

I came up with 11 grams, Which is kind of what I was expecting to get after all the fuck ups she endured. It's some fluffy shit though that's for sure, I actually prefer light and fluffy to hard and dense anyways because I feel I always get a better cure and smoke.


Nice and Crystal popcorn buds with literally 0 stem, Better than most of the shit I buy for myself :s I also think that the harvest basically pays for everything I bought or at least just broke even. I'm not complaining, I'm happy with my final product.








When I harvest my Chemo I will probably get around the same amount but she's looking a lot more healthy. I'll post a pic of her later tonight along with my Rockstar which has been doing great but is a little rootbound at the moment because of a small veg cab...

My chemo plant is going to be finishing in 5 more days or so, Here's a little porn of her. I'm really, really proud of her. She's looking so sexy, she's been a complete joy to grow! Looking to yield around 15 grams or so, Maybe a bit more or less but I'll be happy with the finished product. I don't even understand how the stem is able to hold up the weight!







And finally here's some of the rockstar, comin along great now aside from the 42 watt veg setup, she's getting rather rootbound.
In 5 days or so when my Chemo is finally finished the Rockstar will be taking over the cab and I'll be sticking her under 184 watts of CFL opposed to a measly 42.

Congrats on the grow dude! I did a stacked rubbermaid grow myself the first time. I was surprised how simple putting together was. That chem looks like so dank.

Any updates to this thread? I'm super interested to see what the Rockstar is doing. I read every page of your thread and I honestly can say that you really went through a lot of shit for that 11 grams off the first plant. I'm impressed though, you had more patience than a lot of people have and it looks to have paid off with some super frosty looking buds. Hope that lasts you for awhile. With your cabinet you have now I think you might want to go HPS for flower at some point, it might really lay on the density for the small-ish space that you have.

I'll throw some pictures up later tonight if I get a chance to show you how I'm doing with the rockstar.

I've done a lot of research and will probably be upping to a 250 watt hps in the future and use maybe 200 or so watts of cfl as substitution but for now I don't really have the money.

Yeah I agree the 11 gram yield was pretty low but as you already stated it went through hell and back so yielding anything was awesome.

I harvested 10 grams from my chemo plant that had no issues what-so-ever so It may just been due to lack to lumens from the shape of the rubbermaid.


Right now I have the potential of 276 watts or so of CFL for 12/12. Gonna shoot for 2-3 ounces this next time, I still rather do something bigger though :s.

Just took the last toke of it, Was some very nice smoke after all and I liked my cure process a lot better than the original grower. I'm finding curing and drying is super easy since the buds don't get super dense as they do with
HPS so airflow goes through the buds and dries them evenly which results in a fantastic bong toke. I've always prefered light and fluffy to dense and hard anyways, I still will probably switch to hps eventually though.

I want to try a 400 watt but it's probably to hot for my dresser.
