Hi Guys ,

I just love this site. Im new to the whole growing thing as im sick of having to score and feel like a criminal whilst i try and get some hard earned weed !

Well ive treated myself to a DP90 with a 2 ft T5. Im only doing a 1 plant grow of cannatonic. I was wondering whether an air purifier in the tent would work? Can anyone recommend one that they have used ?

I CANNOT use a carbon scrubber and fan set up as its far too noisy as im in a studio flat and have others in the same house.

Any tips well appreciated . Im trying to do this on the cheap.

A off the shelf air purifier isn't going to do much to stem the smell. Hope your roommates like the smell of fresh skunk piss rather than noise.

Lol i thought the hoover air purifier one may work as it has a carbon filter in it. And i guess you could refit another better pad into it maybe ? It also has a cool function of lights that show when the air is clean. so best outside the tent and maybe a jar of ONA inside ?would a passive activated carbon chimney work in addition you think?

Will my plant smell with this if i only keep it in the veg state. Again its a Cannatonic from Resin seeds.
(I could just then take cuttings and pop em outside)

i was thinking about putting the can filter in the tent and running the ducting to a cupboard with the fan sucking the air out to create negative pressure.

get a fan and filter. hung properly there really isn't that much noise. at the most, your mates might hear what to them would sound like you've left the bathroom fan on...and that small amount of noise will be much easier to explain away and/or get used to listening to than the smell that will start emitting from our favorite flower.
i've heard good things about ona and i've also heard it can affect the taste of the final product. no first hand experience on that but i went with the fan and filter because i didn't want to take a chance. a chance of breaking one of the six L rule: don't teLL, don't seLL, don't smeLL. good luck with your first grow!! :peace:

yep im getting a can and filter the one suggested for just £45! . i will position the fan in a cupboard and soundproof it.
I will not bother with ONA if theres any chance of it tinging the herb.
yes your right the slight noise isnt much.
I like the 6 Ls ! I sure will stick to that.

i don't know about it coming on every couple of hours--a more experienced user would need to help you with that, but i'm not sure that would work...in the beginning it would, but i'm wondering about later on.

I have one auto and keep the extractor on constantly she loves it and it keeps the temp down a lot! Sounds like a good idea tho bro! Get it going :P
