Dr.Greenthumb Fire Hydrant Feminized

Here is the start of my journal for growing Dr.Greenthumb Fire Hydrant Feminized seeds. I just bought these seeds and sprouted em as soon as they arrived! I will keep a journal through the entire grow.

Floro area is 4 x 4' florecent tubes
Veg area is 250w MH
Flower area is 400w HPS

I try and grow all organic, but no one is perfect hehe. I mix my own soil starting with high quality organic potting soil, then mixing in both veg and flower bat guano, blood and bone meal, earthworm castings, and perlite.

Took these pics this morning, they are 2 weeks old here. Tomorrow I will be transplanting them into bigger pots, and moving them into the veg area.. no more sissy floro's for these little ones!

Well I waited an extra day, just cuz I was lazy Here are some shots of the roots all ready to get transplanted and one shot of the pretty little ones before the action starts.




I had no issues at with gettin em into their new pots and home. I only transplanted 4 of the 5, the last one is all derpy and I am going to wait on it to see if it catches up. They are all snug in the Veg cab now under the 250w MH with my mother plant, mommy is glad to not be all by her lonesome anymore

The little transplanted ladies are doing great, took a peek this morning before work, they are all tilted towards the light already. hehehe

I will snap a few more shots of them tonight and upload them tomorrow.

Well I could not wait, I took more pics of the tiny ladies. The one in the back left corner of the cabinet is looking the bushiest so far

If you look close you can find the derpy one! She is trying to play with the big girls, but they just laugh and mock her.

Love seeing how fast these little ones are growing.

1st time I have used pette pelletes to sprout. They dry out like super fast, even tho my soil is still damp and will not need watering for a day or more, the pellets where BONE dry, and that is why I had not seen much growth in 2 days. Got that all fixed now, here are a few shots of the ladies, sorry they are bad I was in a rush this AM.

OH the derpy one is catching up! I am going to put her in a bigger pot tonight I think.

I noticed when I use the peat pellets that the roots, sometime have troubles getting out of the netting.
When I use them I prefer to remove the netting before I transplant, this way I know all roots have easy access to their new soil with out a fight. Some pellets netting is a kind of tough cloth that I have to use scissors on. Others cheap plastic that rips right off.

Maybe this would also help the peat absorb water easier. (Just a thought)

You sir are a genius, Ya that is exactly what I did, I used some of my trimming snips and cut away the film, then watered the pellet and covered it in earthworm castings to help retain more moisture.

Thought I would toss up a few shots to keep track of growth rate. The derpy one is not really far behind anymore in size. I will get more shots this week, tonight I was really all about nug shots for my almost finished ladies over in this thread...
