Day 20 -21 update

Epsom salt foliar seems to be working. tea ended up going more like 51 hours :shocked: but it looked and smelled beautiful < remember: beauty is in the eye of the beholder > so I went ahead and fed my girls and garden with it. Each girl got 1.5gal. I'm doing an abusive run alongside these two with a bagseed. It's in some trash medium, and gets watered with the runoff from the strawberry sour diesel. i refuse to give it any kind of care or attention and only water if the mood strikes me. 12/12 from seed on that one. enough jabber, pics:

Day 40 Update
Strawberry sour diesel is showing some stress on the leaf margins but at day 40 we're getting into the time when we need to just try to ride it out. I watered with 5tbsp molasses in my water today, next time around I'll give some aloe and banana peel FPE with the molasses water, after that it will be molasses + h2o until the chop. enough talk, pics.

Is this day 40 of flower?

Dr.J....Hey plants lookin' good....Just wanted to give you a heads up that you might want to try adjusting pic size on your camera....Those files are real large you have so it takes a while for your thread to load, and makes scrolling difficult....Someone told me about it because I was doing to same thing, and now my thread is a lot easier to scroll through....

well if it's a regular digital camera there should be a choice somewhere on the menu for size...Mine has small, medium, or large.

Day 51 update (sorry, too busy for day 50 update yesterday).

Filling in nicely. Molasses + H2O from here on out. Probably 10-14 days left on the Strawberry Sour Diesel--it smells like strawberries!--and 14-20 days left on the power flower.

sorry buddy, don't have any idea about 'sweet raw.' Let me know what's in it and maybe I can offer some words. Remember, the molasses (or whatever carbohydrate source you use) is feeding the soil biota, not the plant. So if 'sweet raw' is just a mix of molasses/honey/agave etc. and some other 'proprietary blend' of nonsense, then its likely you're just spending too much on something you could get for cheaper. sorry buddy, that's the best i can do for now.

Day 60-1ish update

gonna give the strawberry sour diesel another 4-5 days and then she gets the chop. I'm shooting for 10% clear, 80% milky and 10% amber trichomes. Power flower is going to take every bit of 10 weeks, and likely closer to 72-75 days. anywho, i've got my gangly-ass hawaiian skunk haze and the lovely strawberry blue in the flower tent (had some visitors requiring a quick move) in their 1 gal airpots and will be transplanting them into their 5 gallon airpot homes as soon as there's enough room in the tent (i.e., after i chop SSD).

On a separate note, if i may be so bold as to offer observations before the grow is truly complete, I'd say the SSD needs a slightly different calcium mix than what went into my supersoil. I'm thinking there was too much calcium from too many different sources that ended up preventing proper magnesium uptake. Next time I grow her, I'm going to throw an extra handful of epsom salts in the top 4" of the final container--presuming i use the same soil mix, which, given how well power flower has done in it, is a very good possibility.

Well, the trichs on Strawberry Sour Diesel were about 5% amber, 85% milky, and 10% clear today so she got the chop. Decently pleased with the grow, but definitely need to tweak the soil before doing another round with her. The indagro induction lamp was superb for my needs, i'm very happy i pulled the trigger on it. Got another week or so on Power Flower, transplanted strawberry blue into a 5-7 gallon air pot, and watered the Hawaiian Skunk Haze and Strawberry Blue with their first AACT. HSH will get potted up tomorrow.

anywho, nugs are in the drying rack. they do smell delicious, strawberry-y and diesely. they'll go into a half gallon mason for the cure when they're ready, which I anticipate taking 7-9 days since they're all trimmed up. trim and popcorn nugs went into the freezer for some bubble hash.

I'll keep updating this thread through the finish and cure of power flower, but will be starting anew when my blue mataro run gets going--should be sometime around the first week of july or so.

How does that Power Flower smell ? Is there a need for a carbon filter ? And, also what size pot is she in ? How long was vegg ? And how big are those colas ?

I am just starting my next grow, and it includes one feminised Power Flower....Enquiring minds need to know, lol.

PF is a great grower, not terribly odiferous, but i always recommend some kind of odor diversion/removal setup. ona gel at least, carbon scrubber is always safe.
veg was same as SSD, don't remember off hand but go on to page one and then it should be something like 5-6 weeks with a topping a week or so before 12/12. she's in a 5 gal smartie right now, with a modified supersoil recipe also available on page one. main colas are between full 12 oz soda can and 10 oz cocktail soda can. hope that helps!

SSD smoke / weight report:
only got 62g dried and cured from this little girl. I'm guessing the prolonged time in cold weather, along with the temp swings and calcium fuss around week 6 of flower all converged to reduce yield. Nugs are nice and dense, frosty, but probably harvested about a week early. The high from a smoked bowl is soaring on the front end, plateauing in about an hour, with a gentle taper off that leaves you slightly sleepy. the flavor is basically all diesel with this phenotype. there is a sweet aroma, and you can barely pick up some strawberry notes. When broken, the nugs release the most potent burst of strawberry, but it subsides very quickly. Maximal strawberry flavor was tasted when vaporized at moderate to low temps (344-354F)
A solid smoke, fairly easy grower, and enjoyable plant all around. kudos to devil's harvest.

-quick growing tips [these are from growing her once, so take these with a huge grain of salt too! you may get a different phenotype, etc]--she likes a single topping and will pop four colas if topped according to Uncle Ben's method. vigorous grower with classic indica patterns, don't overwater, and don't overfeed; she''s tolerant to humidity, but minimize temp swings... she puts off quite the aroma while she's ripening--carbon filter recommended.

Power flower is still going--tomorrow is day 91!

Dr.j .......the Royal Queen website says that the PF is an 8 week strain....what kind of lighting are you using ?

You're at 13 weeks.....that's not even in the same ballpark.....I think we might have to start calling out breeders on their flowering times.....start listing all bullshit flowering times.
