dr90 grow tent q's

Hey guys. My first post.... been lurking a long time.

I will be growing 2 plants in a diy dwc bubbleponics setup. I was thinking cfl...then led...now I think a 400 hps might be the way to go.

Ambient temps in my smaller room can be held from 60-70... whereever I need them.

Questions are:

1. How hot will the tent get with just a fan for the plants and some passive cooling?

2. Is 400 too much and will it be i'm to use it for vegging with a few cfls?

3. Any opinions on types of reflectors and equipment to get a good little setup going?

1. If you exhaust from the tent and the light as well you should be ok heat wise with a 400W.

2. No, if you exhaust the heat and tent. Not sure on the second part of the question?

3. A DR90 isn't too big so just a standard hood should be proficient. Or better yet a cool-tube.

So just an inline fan hooked up to the light then a filter then out of the tent?

Can a 400 be used with a few cfls for vegging?



Can anyone with a dr90 recommend some proven setups? Lights...ballasts...reflectors... any help would be great.

Would love to go led as well but is it worth it?

Sure can, and yes inline to your hood and exhaust from tent.

Would a dr90 with cfls work as good as a hps? I know hps is great for flowering but I was hoping to run 4x42w cfls under 2 clamp reflectors and a couple other cfls for side lighting. More daylight style for veg and then switch to more warm for flower.

Would be nice to keep the cost low but I could always get a small all in one hps for flower as well. Mainly cost and heat would be why I wanna go cfl. Anyone else with a dr90 use cfls and bubbleponics?

I have read quite a bit on cfl and hps and roseman had a great write up on both as well. Just looking for real world experience..... thanks

I would not agree with CFL, if you can run HPS and pay for it do it.
