1.5-2 pounds per light?....are you saying your getting 2 pounds of dry bud per light? if so what watt lights? even if your running 1000 watt HPS, that's pretty damn efficient being 0.896 grams per watt
With high yielding strains and some veg time, yes. I have plants packed in there and each 1000w light is covering approx. A 5'x6' to 5'x8' (approx, I haven't measured exactly and this includes side lighting) that would blow only getting 2 pounds of wet bud per light, I think I'd quit growing with as much as that would cost per oz lol.
I'm experimenting with rockwool slabs. First grow was so wrong (not gonna say what i did too embarrassing!) but still i yielded 1.8 oz per plant x9 under one 600w.
I am going to try rockwool slab flood and drain next with 3,2,3 plant formation (3 trays) under one 600w HPS
Might even document the build! I want to knock everyones socks off if I can re yield!!
Best of luck bro, hopefully the rockwool slabs work out well for you!
Yeah I was just bringing that up because with that efficiency sort of makes this thread irrelevant for the most part being that's pretty damn good even with 1000watt, if he is running 600 watt lights well that's just awesome
I actually made the thread because I want to switch to something more efficient time wise (like 4x8 trays) but am afraid it will decrease my yield since I can't have as much side lighting/having the light cover as big of an area. I went ahead and bought a couple to experiment with anyways. Was just curious how it would effect yield, but without seeing my current set up, probably sort of hard to judge that.
I like the idea of running rows of 1/2 PVC pipe with 2x4 supports and placing saucers underneath for easy removal. This is in the making for my new room.
Dude, me to for sure. I've seen a couple collectives set up this way. I currently have my 10 & 15 gallon plants sitting on fiberglass dollies with saucers underneath, that works very well for larger plants. Youl have to let me know how you like the pvc set up
I run the pot in pot system and I do very well with it. Just harvested a 1 plant monster in a recirculating pot in pot and it's the easiest setup I've run. You can always add more pots to the system if you want to grow more plants just remember when using the bucket inside a bucket method that there has to be space in between the two once you set one pot inside the other or your roots will be sitting in runoff water.
I knew this when I first built my system but I couldn't find the right pots and used totes and the weight of the medium and being watered multiple times a day made the tote with medium in it touch the bottom of the outside pot so my plant had major deficiencies but I fixed that with the right pots
Thanks for the tips! I am going to experiment with this, trays, and large plants on dollies to see what works best for my setup/style of growing.
Thats usually what I shoot for, even with the OG type strains in my trays
Unfortunately I end up with more like 1.5 though(with most of my OG's) per 1000w over each 4X4 tray.
I do get 2lb from SOME of my super duper fire strains though
That's still really good for ogs!!! Right now pretty much all my strains are high yielding strains (except a couple of kush's, but not a lot of those) mainly sour d, blueberry, shaman and other strains I have good quality high yielding phenos of. I'm on the hunt to find some good og's now! Wish It was easier to find some dank og phenos here, I miss that real sweet "fire og" or "sfv og" that has that super strong lemony/pine-sol smell/taste that I've had out there in Sacramento. I've never found any ogs here in Co that are quite that good
especially none offered for sale as far as clones/seeds go.
