Dream off

I've started to sprout the "fast" blue dream seeds I won from @Team Vault next to some (j6?) Blue dreams from donated from @Tracker. ( sorry about the blurple)
There will be 2 goals to this journal
1 is a side by side comparison of the 2 genetic lines
I'll be spreading sprouts and cuts around to a few different grow sites (not an invite for gifts or trade) to run the comparison more then one time and under the care of different growers at different seasons and grow styles.
And 2
I don't want to deal with the challenges of blooming photos in the summer months inside so the ones I keep at home will get to veg until the summer heat brakes(late August-early October) I'll be using this time as a practice some techniques I haven't tried yet ( footing/walking, grafting,) maybe some other fun experiments.

Don't expect to have many updates for a good while I just wanted to get the page started to note the time of early life

Girls got topped tonight. Both right above their second set of true leafs, both throw 5s on their 3rd set. This specimen from seedsmen has a thicker stalk, taller growth and fuller foliage compared to this specimen of trackers stock. Trackers has a strange leaf deformation my best guess is the result of poor watering practices. They will be uppotted as soon as a larger tent becomes available which should be during this next week or 2

At home both responded well to topping and the damage seems to stop on trackers stock after the uppot. Seedsmens clip seems to have rooted

Finaly got the big tent empty and cleaned out, all the equipment wiped down ran a torch over my metal drain table, drain bucked was disgusting. I got this giant squar pot that they are gonna live the rest the way in. Seedsmen's stock has enough vegitation that i will attempt to foot her when i transplant tonight. Going to put a net up even with the split from thier topping to keep growth as horizantal as possible. Gonna double up on veg lights, the hope being having the light source on 2 opposite walls the canapy will be eisier to train and scrog.

Slightly underestimated the squar and cubic footage of the big pot. Had to clip the corners in so it didnt hang off the sides of the table. Probably gonna have to use all the soil i have just to keep the edges up. I knew id need more later in the grow but was hoping to hold off another store run for a while. I caught my foot atempt in a solo cup so i could check if it rooted well withough having to distube the main rootball. Just a clipped and shaved end buried in happy frog, ill try with rooting blocks and/or growth hormone on later attempts

Second attempt to vine seedsmen stock. Used cloning gel and a rooting cube, gonna keep it above the soil and use a sprey bottle on it daily. The low hanging side nodes on the first attempt appear to be growing more vigioursly, i will take it take it out of its cup before i go on vaca in 2 weeks and if rooted add it to the main pot.
Trackers stock has not grown side branches vigoriously enough for me to play with in such a mannor, if that is still the case in a week i will bury one of its tops in the pot

I think this is what they call "air catchung" put the shaved branch in a bag of wet soil. I got a bad feeling about it. Probably requires cloth bags to let O into the root zone. Mold enoculating is a concern.20240618_164614.jpg
I got some good side branches going on both stock so i will be ordering some grafting wax this week and trying my first graft swap the first week in july:bigjoint:

Pulled the first foot attempt out of the cup. Nothing impressive but it dose look like it has switch from foral growth to root. I returned it to the cup.20240622_211633.jpg
The end stuck on a cube and dropped in a cup of water had the branch above it turning white and damage to the fan leafs below it on the main. I removed the whole branch and damaged fan leafs.20240622_211826.jpg20240622_212333.jpg
The air caught branch was showing nothing of the sort so i added more soil to the bag and misted vigirously.
Hope nothing gose wrong till i get home friday

Grafting kit came in today20240703_222307.jpg
Girls are ready for a prunning, but its a water night so ill let them drink a day or 2 before i start chopping into them

So my first graft attempt was a fail. The wax softens and congiels quickly so you probably want to keep it on a heat souce until the time of aplication. And the tape that came with it was basicly plastic wrap and barly adhesive, I will try using medical or electical tape next time. I also think i need to choose a bit thicker branches until i learn my cuts better.
I pruned them up a little and non of the clips i kept have died yet.
^^^saturday the 6th^^^^
The air caught branch appears to be rooting, the footed branch broke and left a sickly nub branch that had to be removed.
As i have learned with cloning overhandling is a great path to failure. Any forther atempts will not be "checked" aka fucked with for a min of 21-30 days. I still got a solid 5-10 weeks before i put what i dont fuck up into bloom

I may not be able to wait out the summer to flower as the canopy is very full. Tomorrow i will put up a secong net but once they start peeking over that the HLG is going in. A bit dissapointed in myself, i was hopping to play with these girls a lot more then i did. I will make a point of getting at least one more graft attempt and foot a branch off each when i prune up the underside this week.

Heres the ones out side at my moms house. Seedsmens stock on left looks like she went into strech with lots of bud sites. Trackers seems to be stented. Looks healthy but has not grown in over 4 weeks20240715_171844.jpg
Oh and it rubar they share a pot with. Thoses dont like virginia summers

Outside seedsmen has got flowers developing but all tiny sites still, trackers stock has hit her strech.

Inside i never got to another graft or foot attempt and now i wont as ill be flipping any week now. I did get the second net up amd the bottoms trimmed up. Still hopping to wait for the heat to die down a bit more.
Every cut i took from seedsmen stock has rooted. The top off trackers did not make it and only one from the pruning has rooted so far and 2 of 3 others still look alive dispite not having roots yet

Inside Supercropping was not needed. My neem treatment i belive was to concentrated and to vigorous causing some damage. Dont think i gave enough of a top dressing at start of flower, had some die off in the under canopey and some yellowing in the higher leafs, they got about 1/2 a foot³ last night. Both stocks seem mostly healthy and progessing though bloom in a mostly normal manner.

Outside seedsmens stock is rrucking along though flower, bud sites fully formed reding up at the base of about 1/3 of the pestils she looks health but has mostly 3 blade leafs. Trackers stock looks mostly healthly but is really creeping though the flower process bud sites are showing but not very developed yet nowhere close to even begin to rippen yet
Outside pics attached inside pics to come tonight after lights on
