The truth is that nothing is required, not even a birth certificate. Had Obama not been president for 4 years I would have liked to see his transcripts as well, but his 4 years in office rendered that point moot. It has been tradition of late for presidential candidates to reveal their tax returns, I believe Romneyh's father set the tone. Romney's insistance that he not demonstrate his relationship with the IRS tells many of us that he thinks he is above such small mindedness. Had Romney been president for 4 years I would not be able to see the relevence of his tax returns but his views on taxation and especially taxation of the rich makes his tax returns pertinent to our understanding of who his is and how he might govern with relation to the all important conversation of taxation and specificaly taxation of the rich in this country at this present time.
I believe having a president that has spent time in other countries should be a prerequisite to the Office.

if your doc is an intern then grades mean a lot, but if he has been practicing for years there are better indicators of his skill, unfortunately every record of obama's actions is locked up tight like a samsonite. all we can see is his 2 years in the senate a few speeches and his 3 years of bumbling failure in the whitehouse. even if romney's tax forms show him skating on all taxes he still has a better record than obama.
But politicians are not at all like doctors. There is no corpus of established political practice to compare to what doctors or engineers or even attorneys learn. College is irrelevant to a politician's practice and career. cn
