drip system bubblegum construtive criticism?

what i have built here is my own custom drip system. it is a four foot by two foot planter that fits just perfectly in my closet. in the 10 gallon resevour (underneath) are 3 tubes 2 are for drainage that come from holes in each side of the planter, the other tube connects a water pump to a dripper head that can divid the water into 8 different tubes that end with a spike and a dripper. the drippers are on a timer that waters the plants four times a day. the babies are under 4 fluorescent lights. i could use some outside opinion on anything i should do with the system. and i have a 400 watt hps for flowering yet i have no solid plan on flowering since i have no where to put a mother. how many plants can i flower with a 400 watter? if i did 8 plants what is an average yeild? so if u can answer a question or ask me one plz do. or show me ur system so we can compare thank you .

if you want to do a full 8, do it up as a sea of green. each plant could hit ballpark 1/2 oz. dry (very ballpark guess )

you can also get a mom goin' in soil, and build a little cab for it.

so what ive realized is that i can hopefully fit 3 large plants across the back side and could possible clone and do 4 small sog plants across the front. any other ideas plz help me id like to get the most for the space i have

i would suggest all plants be sog for the 400w, for canopy's sake. 6 sog plants and 2 moms?

how much could i yield per sog plant ? i was hoping to get around a quater pound

strain dependent of course... with all healthy unstressed plants you could do that and a lot more, but who knows?. 6 plant sog is the way to go with the 400w.

how tall should i let the clones before i flower them to get to have a healthy roomy harvest like 10 12 inches?

6-9 inches... the beauty of sog is short, quick flowering plants...it'll shoot up a bit tho

and one more question do you think its safe to use my 400 watt hps in that closet? should i try to get one of those cool reflectors for it i mean cool as in temperature wise with the screens over the bottom?

yeah, but your gonna have to ventilate regardless. if its a tiny closet then get a aircooled reflector, but you'll need an extra fan and they're more expensive. try it out a day or two to measure temps, and experiment... fire hazard wise you are fine, ive got 1000w in my closet.

heres a small update plants are doin very well with fast healthy growth hopefully in another 3-4 weeks i can clone them and flower the clones to see what sex the plants are. i wish i had more closet space. lol i also have moved them to there permanet homes in the rockwool buckets here are a few pictures.

please dont mind the little plants i had some bagseed and promised my girlfriend i would plant her own plant but not to fear ill be throwing them outside away from the REAL plants in a few days lol hehehe

so just a update and a question. first day of flowering under my 400 watt hps i had to drop the table so that the plants wouldnt be too close to the bulb
but i am wondering if it is going to be a problem they are about 20 inches away from the bulb and they will get beigger and i cannot put the light any higher.
i have a good fan to keep things as cool as possible is this going to be enough. ???thank you

sup dude, glad to see the 1st day of 12/12!
in flower, they do get hella bigger (2x avg, up to 3x bigger!!!) If there is no way to get extra space between them and the light, you are kinda screwed. I couldn't tell you if its too late to top them, and tying them down probably wouldn't be enough. I'd say keep it @ 20 inches, if you've only got a fan. what are your temps? wat style did you end up growin? i didn't see the pics come up, but post more neways (pic of ur closet). u've made it thus far, keep rockin.

ahh shit thanx for the info the temps are good i live in a rather cold area so that and the heat from the light gives a good balance i tried to show a pic of the whole setup but i had to use my phone. so there is a shelf that my light is attached to so maybe i could un screw that bitch and i could raise the light about 10-12 more inches if the plants get too tall will the light just burn them? i over looked it because ive been praying to about every god there is that they will all be females. but there are a few things i can do when the time comes any ideas? i could possible drop the table even more. and with those plants if u can see them what is a decent yeild estimate? there a little over two feet tall and have only been under hps for 2 days.

can't see the pics, im dying to see them + ur setup. in terms of yield, there's no way to tell on ur first grow w/ a new strain, but I will guarantee ur next grow to getter a higher yield than this one if all goes well. SOG plants avg. a 1/2oz each for many growers, but the pics would help f'sho. I'm gonna update my journal tonight or tomorrow, so come by and leave some love.

damn im puttin them in the best i can. i looked today and one plant is a ture blue female. the other two thought ive never seen a have pear shaped with a small white center i guess its too close to tell but im dying to know i will quit smoking if there males lol.......... jk i can try putting the pictures in another way also.

well this is the final post for this grow. i ended up with 2 out of three males, very disapointed in that the female happend to be the smallest and slowest growing of the three. i tryied to clone it somthing ive never done before ive always been a seed guy. i cloned them in rockwool the stood strong for four daysthen wilted a little after about two weeks there was no root growth can anyone tell me what i did wrong i know i did alot wrong. but started with a PH d half strength nute solution. diped the cube in lightly which i think i should have soaked. put them in a dome didnt have a heating mat and sprayed them everyday.
