bottom line any one of us could become a casualty of the new system...just by existing..(medical patient)
and any drug recognition expert(guesser) on a whim could decide your high...regardless of the truth...
and even though you may beat the charges in court...your life will be affected and your insurance....well?????

In my opinion ...that part I find the most unfair...is that health Canada had a breach of our privacy...(the letter fiasco)
and I believe it was in order to take those large windows on the envelopes and have them printed on a conveyor system...
so that video cameras could be installed directly above the envelope window ,with our personal information exposed.
This video taken by Health Canada probably at the request of the RCMP or joint police services country wide, was a last ditch effort
in case the mmpr was struck down in court,,,,,to save the information for all the growers and medical users that were enrolled in the MMAR...
I also believe that the list has been sorted and distributed to the specific police forces for each area and any interactions an MMAR grower may have with their local forces, comes with the pre-knowledge of the fact that your were licence'd under the old program.

Would health Canada ...have been so stupid to think that they could have gotten away with the distribution of every MMAR's
personal info....for anyone who comes in contact with the mail...to see... to me this was a premeditated step by HC backed up by the police
knowing that it would cost them millions in awards to the affected parties....

While this all sounds a little paranoid, I have considered not telling my doc I use cannabis....I somehow think there's a loophole somewhere waiting for someone like me...something to the effect that my doc is obligated to tell icbc that im a patient....my health card looks exactly like my drivers licence.....

I kept my old one and laminated it...its good until I renew...when ever that is....:cool:

I live in a legal state down south of y'all, but I won't tell my doctor I use cannabis, even occasionally or topically.

It's because of insurance reasons. Any notes she writes down get loaded into my med record and my insurance company will see it. I suspect that at some point, they will start refusing to cover any expenses they claim are associated with illegal drug use. The trumpists have already floated this idea, though it hasn't made it into any bills.

It's only a matter of time though. They already penalize people who\ smoke cig's with higher costs and reduced benefits. I have no doubt this admin would pile on for cannabis use.

It's different here with public health. We are all insured equally no matter who we are or what we use - and we don't pay by the visit.
What the poster was referring to is car insurance. In BC that is also run by government and they have combined drivers license and medical card. She's worried about her car insurance rates being affected by cannabis use.

I have to admit, I do like the way you guys roll on a lot of issues. Down yonder, we have an american series called COPS. I watch it mostly to be reminded how unfair the us law enforcement system is. The cops routinely violate pc, make illegal searches, and jam people up with absolutely no rhyme or reason, other than they found a technical fault of some kind. It isn't polite. It isn't gentle. It isn't just.

And you guys have "Under Arrest". I was shocked how laid back your cops are. They practice de-escalation like artists. They don't intentionally escalate an encounter until they have total control. They let people walk off and just follow them, talking to them. They back off if someone gets agitated. They do make arrests, but usually it is for an actual crime as opposed to fleeing, or resisting arrest, or some other bs charge. I was also shocked to see them tackle someone, put them in cuffs, and then just let them go; even though the person was fighting them the whole time.

It's NOT like that down here. Here it is comply or die. Cops are taught to gain control through a series of escalations, and to shoot to kill, and to keep shooting until the suspect is down and not moving. If they shoot you, you are going to die, either from the wounds directly or by bleeding to death. All they will do is put you in cuffs and watch you bleed. They don't provide any first aid once they shoot someone.

There is no catch and release clause. If they put you in links, there is a high probability you are going to jail for something. Anything.

I concur. If I was running from the cops in the US and they yelled stop or I will shoot, I would believe them. In Canada not so much, I would keep moving. Now if there were vehicles and a police chase involved, I would be more inclined to hesitate. I wonder if the real weapon they like is the 3,000+ lb vehicle.

Dude its really not much different here. Last year the cops killed more people than the criminals did....

I cant remember the kids name but he had a knife on a streetcar and the cops shot him 9 times and then tasered him.

Statistics Canada will spend up to $600,000 a year for a contractor to regularly test waste water from 15 to 20 municipalities across the country for traces of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana, and other drugs.

so who convinced who that checking toilet water for 3/4 of a mil would do it?

why not have a wee look see... they are in a position where ZERO DRUGS AND OR ALCOHOL for someone who carries a gun?!?!
they are their worst enemy if ya ask me..
