droopy big leaves with a high tech installation

Hi guys,

I ve added some pics for u to see my problem. Mij setup:

  • 4x modified waterfarm
  • ACS controller for the waterfarm (4 pack kit)
  • 1.5x1.5x200 tent
  • CO2 fluctuating between 1200-1800
  • VPD 1.3 1.4 and i cant get it down
  • dimlux evsa 1x 600watt (since today MH)
  • opticlimate maxi controller
  • Infrared camera for the leafes temperature and VSD
  • EC 1.4
  • PH fluctuating between 5.2 and 6.4
  • Room temperature 29
  • Humidity arround 50%
  • 50 liter p/m for dripping
  • 40 liter p/m for airstones in res

Nutes:
  • Canna aqua vega A+B
  • Cannazym
  • Rhizothonic
  • PH- Veg
  • Cannacure for the leafes (used it once)

Why are my leaves so droopy, they are big and curling down, color of the plants is ok. I suspected overwatering and bought a lot of airing pumps (2 days ago). Drippers are on off like 30 mins on 30 off 15 mins on 30 off. I tried to dry em and i didnt drip 2 days and that didnt help. I thought HPS lamp was to close (60cm) and now the MH lamp is like 1.20 meters high. I have a dimlux evsa and maxicontroller and can give all the info you need. I hope you guys can help me out with this one.

The only thing that i havent fixed yet is wrapping the buckets with foil, will do that tomorrow. I think the water got like 25/26C hot.

At the pictures they are almost 2.5 weeks old from planting seeds, used sponge and planted 15th of january.

I suspect hot water or overwatering but when i read the maxicontroller, the VPD drops from 1.4/1.5 to 1.2/1.3 when the drippers are turned on. The CO2 levels are high in the house and i dont add CO2. I do have a shiva CO2 controller and this time its being used for measurements only. I hope we can fix this.

When they are a bit bigger i will do 2 600watt bulbs for the 1.5 tent, but i can lower the range of the light from 110% (boost) to 35% power), so enough playground.

TY

What lights are you using... they look like 2700k to me which is the wrong spectrum, they should be either dual spectrum or 4000k-6500k

what are you using to test ph? a digi meter needs to be calibrated often. the vial and drop test kit from petco is very accurate and cheep 7-8 buks. hot water can be a prob for hydro. freeze a few bottoles of water and drop them in the res. to lower temps.

I have Lumii bulbs 600 watt sunblaster supposed to be 2000K with blue and red, changed it to GIB 600 watt MH veg lamp today. These are pictures i just made. The one in the corner was burned because i moved the bucket a lot and didnt realise hydroton movement equals killing roots, so that one is a lost cause.

The one in the left is a bit different, thicker leaves and more compact. That one had a shock while it was a baby, lived a few days with the seeds crust on its head, removed manually.

I m afraid i cant lower EC because the others are getting to hungry, the one behind has to live with burnes if needed, but his new leafes aint droopy, just burning a bit. Could it be the ultra high co2? i cant lower without losing a lot of humidity outside is -5%C and it absorbs all RH. I can fix the CO2 problem if i put them into flowering 12/12, at night i can open some doors.

5.2 is too low for your PH bro I dont even like to go below 5.7 on my PH meter in hydro. Try and keep PH between ATLEAST 5.6 and no higher than 6.2 even if that means you gotta check it and correct it everyday, but once your plants get bigger and grow bigger roots they will feed more and the PH will stay constant when you get them at the right feeding levels...good luck bruh

Eutech ECO Testr pH2 Waterproof

I have the calibrating water here and calibrated it just a few days ago, it was 99% accurate. Its also a few weeks old, so i dont think its the ph, but i can test again.

It dropped to 5.2 once or twice, i add some rhizotonic (a bit) to get it up). Mostly its like 6.2 and than i use some ph- to get it arround 5.6/5.8. I also made a waterpump to circulate the water properly between the 4pack + control bucket.

I just checked the PH again and its a nice 5.9 and 9 out of 10 its under 6.4 and above 5.5. Here are some pics of the measurement, the AT measurement is at the hight of the leafes and the fan measurement is in the middle of the tent.

This VPD is with the drippers off and i will post some with the drippers on after 30 minutes.

Damned CO2 rose to 2000ppm as we speak, it could be to high leves at such young age. Perhaps is better i put them on 12/12 flowering and run this one out asap. I will move the location of the setup soon and get a better control on CO2 and temps.

I lowered the lamp from 1.20 to 1.00 m and turned drippers on, the VPD got arround 1.3 now and the leafe temps are 26.5 C. Should i up the EC 2 1.6/1.8 and leave the one thats behind to its faith? Dont wanna risk the other 3 for that one tbh and with this climate its better to do 1.6/1.8 no?

If your water was 25/26C those roots are probably dead, and unable to take up any nutes or water or oxygen. Keep an eye on res temps is my suggestion

good luck

Guys i think those droopy leaves are strain stuff. I fixed the watertemperatures (waterchiller) and lowered the humidity and still droopy. I need your opinions..These have vegged for 4 weeks and 10 days flowering. How do they look?

They have covered like more than half of the space now and i trimmed the bottom of it. Next time i ll do better, for that i m sure.
I give them 1500 ppm CO2 and temps are at 30C. Water temps 18/20 and 50 l/m air for the 4 of them. I dont use the dripper mutch, should i? I lowered the humidity from 73% to 55%, they were drooping to mutch, any suggestions? Nutes at 3.0 EC and PH 5.5/6.3.

I feel like i screwed up.

Would have loved a usefull info add. I found the problem, its nitrogen toxiticy, al the symptoms look like overwatering, growth is slowed and curly leaves, the claw. I hoped u guys knew something outside PH...pffffff

So did you actually fix it? or did you just read up on it?

Hi everyone,

I ve uploaded some pictures to show the progress. I ve been a naughty dude and gave to mutch heat at day (28C) and cold at night (16c). So they stretched a lot. It's incredible growth rate with this setup, next time i wont veg more than 2 weeks after seed hatch. 4 weeks is crazy.

I m thinking about letting them grow into the bulbs. I ve dropped day temps to 24 now, c if that keeps hem at this length. `15-01 seedhatch 15-02 flower.
