There pretty covered in trichs but the vid doesn't do em any justice. I haven't started to check for cloudiness or anything like that, it's a bit to early for that right now. The plant on the right has five pretty big colas, around 12" or better. There really starting to fatten up. I checked the runoff the other day and I'm getting around a 5.1 reading. I believe that where the deficiencies are coming from. It's a little late in the game right now to try and fix it. Next round I'm gonna add some dolomite lime to help stablilize the pH in the soil and I'll add a little perlite to the mix as well. I noticed the same deficiencies last round too, but the plants were a lot smaller and didn't clearly show the signs these fat bitches are.

Nope, and I aint gonna flush em this round either. I'm starting to lean towards a no flush. Been doing a lot of reading on the subject here lately and I'm starting to believe it's all a bunch of malarkey.

Check this thread out if you got the time. There's some pretty good info in there.

https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/409622-truth-about-flushing.html

Hye, its your crop.. just trying to help you out here. Uhmm.. I would def. stop giving her nutes two weeks before you plan on cutting her down. I mean, even if your running a hydro setup.. even most hydro users will flush their crop. They just empty their containers out, clean them out, and put fresh water without any nutrients.. for the last 3 to 5 days.

The truth about flushing.. is simple. You dont flush.. your going to end up smoking and inhaling any of the trace amounts of chemicals/ferts/nutrients that are left behind. I personally have no interest in even reading that 'Truth about Flushing' article. I've always flushed my plants out before harvesting.. and always will. You have to be able to get those remaining trace elements out of the soil for a resulting better, cleaner, smoother product.. period.

There is no debating that. :) Sorry.. there's just no "ifs" or "buts" about it.

If you don't flush.. your going to end up with a less smooth, clean, better product. Just how the cookie crumbles my friend.. ;)

Oh, and I'm sure more people will agree with this..

peace.

Thanks for your input and I'll keep that in mind, although I'll have to be the judge of that my self. Also I really do think you should at least have a look at the thread before making comments on something you didn't even read. Riddleme knows his shit and has facts to back it up. I've always flushed but I aint gonna do it this time. I'll make my decision on this matter after I've had a chance to see for myself.

Have a nice day.

Wow...your plants look amazing. You may want to post your pictures on HGS website. I still have these seeds as a gift from my girl. Can't wait for your smoke report...

Thanks man, I tried to start a journal over there at HGS but I kept having issues with a mod over the lighting I was using at the time. He was quite the A hole. So instead of having to put up with his shit, I just said :finger: and never went back. It's cool they have a forum to showcase there seeds and all but there forum format really sucks. They aint got nothing on RIU.

I think you'll like the NL#5. Just make sure you get a good pheno out of the bunch to work with. Some are heavy producers with rock hard buds and some are not.

Thanks for stopping by and come back anytime.

Peace.

It's all good man. I used to be in his mindset when it came to flushing. Some people just do what there told like sheep or have just been doing it for years and they can't wrap there head around doing it a different way. That's cool and I have no problem with that. But when they come to me and say
There is no debating that.
Sorry.. there's just no "ifs" or "buts" about it.
I just let it go in one ear and out the other. Now I'm not on the no flush band wagon just yet but I'd like the choice to experiment and decide for myself instead being led like all the other sheep.

Well since were talking taboo here. That thread also goes into a very interesting method of drowning your plants before harvest and leaving them in the dark for like five days before the chop. The claim is that the plant will drown it's self and start a fermentation process that breaks down the sugars in the plant resulting in a better tasting product and shorter cure times. Also increased trichome production from the long dark period. So what takes like 30 plus days to cure could be cut down to a week or two. It seems there's quite a few people who have been doing this and are claiming great results.

I'm not saying go drown your plant's everybody because I'm sure not...... this round anyway. But I might experiment on the next round and make that decision for myself as well. Here's a link to the thread in case you missed it.

Aight everybody, have a nice day.

I've been seeing a lot of that too lately on you tube and on see strain sites. Where they say the plant likes to have 3-5 days of total darkness. But I never see more on this. They never say if they cut them or dry them or just run the plants in the trays still with lights off or what. I've seen a million ways to cure. This will always come down to the growers pref it seems.

Hey man i saw your Zorb vid too. Looks fucking sick. I haven't searched yet, but is that one of those USB microscopes? When you going to bust that back out again?

Yep it's a usb microscope and they're fairly cheap. You can get one for 30 - 35 bucks shipped. I got mine from amazon. I'll bust it out when the plants are getting close to harvest, probably within a cpl of weeks. It's pretty cool for checking trichs and it's pretty easy to use. I got a jewelers loupe and one of those radio shack microscopes but they pretty much suck compared to the zorb.

Peace.

I got a fairly large update for you guys and gals this afternoon. I thought I would post pics of my bubble cloning operation and veg room. The first set of pics are my bubble cloners. I'm using 3 gallon buckets with 5 inch air stones. Each air stone is hooked up to a fairly large air pump to create lots of bubbles. The air stones are stuck to the bottom of each bucket with a marine grade silicone. If not the stones will not lay flat.

The next set of pics are the bubble buckets in action

The next set of pics are the lids and 2 inch neoprene inserts. I got two lids for the buckets and a 1 7/8" inch hole saw. I took the hole saw and drilled out 5 spots on each lid. That gives me enough room for ten clones, five per bucket. You can drill as many holes as you want but I decided on five because I don't like to crowd my clones.

The next set of pics are the clones placed in the neoprene insert.

The next two pics are one day later and the clones are perking up

The next two pics are the stems. You want to have a decent size stem to go down into the bucket. There are two ways you can do this. #1) put the stems directly into the water. #2) leave the stems just above the water, I prefer method # 2. With method #2 the stems get splashed by the bubbles breaking the surface and it keeps them constantly wet and well oxygenated.

Now with all that being said. I've produced clones like this many times and it usually only takes 10 days or so to see roots. Although these NL#5's seem to take forever to root. The first set of clones took like 30 days to show roots but they were taken way late, like the fourth week of flower and figured that was to be expected. The second time I took clones was at 10 day's into flower and they took like 20 days to show roots.
If I would have taken them sooner before I put em in flower they would most likely produce roots sooner.

Now, I've taken clones from a bag seed strain 10 day's into flower and saw roots after 10 days. So I'm guessing it's relatively strain dependent on the time it takes to show roots. but I've always taken them 10 days into flower and had roots in 10 days except for the NL#5.

Another point I want to add is that you can do this with just plain water or pH-ed water. I use pH-ed water because I add grow nutes @ about 1/4 to 1/2 strength and KLN rooting hormone from the get go. In my opinion the clones can take it because they were getting full strength at the time taken so there's no need to starve em. Just don't give em to much because they don't need a lot.

The next set of pics are of clones and the roots after 36 days in the cloner. I almost forgot to take those pics because I was busy putting them into there new homes, 1 gallon superoot air pots.

The next set of pics is just after I potted them.

The next set of pics there in my veg room under the T5 fluorescent lights. They will veg there until round 2 is finished in the flower room.

Okay, so that's the end of the show folks. I hope you enjoyed my little tutorial on how to make and use a bubble cloner.

Peace and happy growing.

There coming right along my friend. Last time I watered I upped the pH to 8 to see if it would balance out my soil and I got a rather strange reading. Last time Plant 1 had a pH of 5.1 and plant 2 had a pH of 5.2 from the runoff. So after I watered with the upped pH, P1 was 5.3 but P2 went up to 6. I don't what to think of that. I'm gonna give em another dose tomorrow night and see what it does. Well I'm looking @ around 17 days till the chop and I'm getting a little anxious. I plucked a cpl of lower branches about 2 weeks ago because they were getting my way while trying to water. I thew em in a closet where I keep all my gardening supplies and forgot about em. They were just immature little buds. Anyway I picked off all the good parts and rolled it on up, and I got a really good buzz on, I was surprised. Can't wait to get into them colas.

Peace.

i'll be harvesting the tops of my lph about the same time as you. just found my botanicare clearex, so if the plants get any worse im going to flush them again. i clipped a small bud that wasnt getting much light from some of the fan leafs of the tops. got it brown bag drying right now :) i think im going to run 4 water farms next grow, allot less ph problems then soil. i'll be posting updates on my plants tonight when lights come on.

I agree, Hydro is much easier but it's also a lot more time consuming. I'll be on the look out for those pics.

i didnt mind the checking the ph every day. i mean i only did it once a day when i refilled it. i just keep a extra bucket in my room to put the net pot into while i do what i got to do.

Nice to see ya again drops, damn i love those pots lol, just can get past the cost of them! I think ill just stick with my cheap ass root pots. Nice cloners too, i made a nice little 30 site aero cloner from a 18 gal rubbermaid, $25 pump from harbor freight, black 1" PVC pipe ( What plants sit in ) and some window foam i had laying around from winterizing the house. Thanks for stopin by and sayin hello also, nice to know some people still check it out lol.
