because no one said it, stay at your own state and grow your own. your spending a couple k just to move. spend the money on supplies where you live.

Sorry I should have said we have a winner. I reread and I wasn't as clear. You gave a very succinct and well-reasoned post as to the down side of CA growing.

Is it pretty obvious where journals from Trippy Stix are? Clicked on username, journals and nothing. (Edit: found it, gorilla grow, reading it now) Not that it matters too much even good gardeners that know their shit have a hard time here.......He did ask how many acres for an outdoor and indicated he's from the east coast so I figured the outdoor experience is limited. Hopefully OP will chime in soon, I'm not saying he's a bad grower just trying to give an idea of the climate here.
