Dropping Out of University and Relocating

Hey, I'm a 23 year old female in Canada. I've been in school for the past two years or so, off and on, also working. Anyway I've come to the conclusion I'm happier when I'm working and that I don't think university is right for me. I'm gonna work until I figure out what I want to do, then do an accelerated training program if I have to.


So I'm looking for cool communities around Canada. First, I need to find a job. But I'm thinking Vancouver, Winnipeg, Calgary, Halifax, or Montreal. Or maybe way the fuck up north. Right now I'm in Hamilton. Anyone live in those areas, or around those areas?

I would relocate to places in the US like Boston, LA, New York. But I would have to get a work visa and I could only stay for a short while. Wouldn't know how to go about doing that. Plus I like Canada better. We have Tim Hortons and health care.

I lived in Canada for 25 years I grew up in Sudbury as much as I love it chances are you'll hate it

Unless you have a dedicated career that's in demand you will starve and be homeless way the fuck up north

I suggest you seriously consider your move it isn't cheap even if you take a greyhound bus to go from Ontario to Vancouver

You cannot get welfare unless you have a residence so unless you know people half way around the country you can crash at you need to save up money

The west coast is expensive to live many people fail miserably there so be careful

Thanks for the advice :) I am definitely going to save up money by working first before I go anywhere.

If you're in Hamilton now jusT either live at home and work full time
Or get a job full time and get an apartment with roommates so you can save up
Than go train it to Toronto and fly porter airlines to whenever you go next
Just sell everything you own and take a suitcase with you :)

Just plan it out right all your finances be really really thoughtful and organized
I have a few buddies who did this and succeeded
And I have a few buddies who did This and ended up homeless

The ones who prepared lasted

I can't stand Toronto my best friend loves it
But she also has a in demandcareer so for her it's a good place

Personally for me it's too fucking crowded

But working for min wage jobs aren't exactly the best ideas after a while

It's good for when you're young but once you're older you'll want stability with benefits. And a good retirement fund

I loved all my min wage jobs I had a lot of them but I'm also glad to be able to end up in a stable career

I've lived in Toronto
I've lived all outside Toronto
I lived in northern Ontario which is also Sudbury by the way lol and it was the worst

If you want to land jobs that are higher than min wage and you don't care about wrecking the environment you'll want Alberta I have friends who don't even have a high school diploma making 30$ an hour out there plenty of females too
