What do you want to do for work while you’re figuring it all out? You should figure that out first before picking your moving city.

The days of 20 bucks and hour with full benefits in Edmonton Tim Hortons are a thing of the past, there’s a lot of unemployed people in Alberta right now.

Without experience, a trade, or a specialized education the highest paying jobs are in restaurants (bartending or serving - the kitchens pay shit), remote work/ shift work, or construction.

A degree, any degree, opens you up to a lot more job opportunities in my opinion. Most of the time you’re working in a completely different field than your degree, but the expensive piece of paper gets you in the door.

Hey, I'm a 23 year old female in Canada. I've been in school for the past two years or so, off and on, also working. Anyway I've come to the conclusion I'm happier when I'm working and that I don't think university is right for me. I'm gonna work until I figure out what I want to do, then do an accelerated training program if I have to.

So I'm looking for cool communities around Canada. First, I need to find a job. But I'm thinking Vancouver, Winnipeg, Calgary, Halifax, or Montreal. Or maybe way the fuck up north. Right now I'm in Hamilton. Anyone live in those areas, or around those areas?

I would relocate to places in the US like Boston, LA, New York. But I would have to get a work visa and I could only stay for a short while. Wouldn't know how to go about doing that. Plus I like Canada better. We have Tim Hortons and health care.
I'd say give St. John's Newfoundland a look. Lots of jobs here and is starting to get a big city feel.

Not to mention newfoundland has been said to have the most freindly and helpfull people here in the world.

Plus the most bars/clubs on a single street is here in st. johns on George street

If you are planning on coming to America, practice pronouncing the word ABOUT! If you pronounce it, Aboot, you will be punched in the face, promptly. Just looking out for you.

Boston - Home to angry, Irish redheaded alcoholics. Lots of sexy sexy crime. Good comedy scene.

LA - Home to artsy types, legalized weed. Possibility to work in media. Good comedy scene.

Glad you have managed to accept the most caricaturistic views of American cities. Something tells me you would get chewed up and spit out in aboot eight seconds in either of them. You should try Miami, it is home to hot-headed Cuban coke lords with machine guns. I don't know anything about the comedy scene there. Sorry.

Have you tried porn?

No, I don't think people would want to see that

I'd say stick it out and stay in school. Make sure your major is in demand for jobs. Only move if you are sure of employment and you're very unhappy with school. Also, don't move very far away from Canada as you'll have to travel back there for medical reasons since the fucking cost of healthcare will freak you out here. I'd say WA or OR, states with legal weed so you may be able to work in that sector.

edit: I was in Edmonton awhile back and the unemployment rate is zero, oil patch shit but you can get work there. It sucks in the winter though as you know.

yeah. my major is communications. It would get me a decent job, but I also have significant work experience and connections so I'm not terribly worried. and I can't go back to school until I know what I want to do for a living, eh
