Dry done in 4 days/ cure issues

Hey guys Ive been around here a long time read tons of info and have harvested my first big one that I'm actually quite proud of. I get that dry time may have been a little too fast but idk I put a humidifier in the room I needed exhaust running so I am here. My stems don't snap per say ( some do) some don't but buds are pretty dry and the leaves surrounding are brittle. I went ahead and trimmed popcorn buds and a hangers worth of the same strain to see what would happen if I put them in ziplock bags ( kinda thinking it will be close to using paper bag with minimal air exchange then jar them.) However when I was dry trimming last night the smells were great upon sealing them in bags I kinda get that chlorophyll smell that's overpowering a bit. So what should I do? I currently just opened the zip lock bags to let more air in and I am moving them around every so often..what other feedback would you guys have that can increase my chances at keeping my first real harvest the best I can? Im not touching my other ones until I get clarification if I should just continue what I'm doing or wait for them to dry further which I don't know if it will be over dry. Clueless lol ...help me out guys!!

Pretty good burns well and gets me pain relief and nice and baked. Though I have been reluctant to obviously try the bigger stuff and really have been just trying the popcorn. Not really harsh I can see how a cure would help but I'm stuck at the point of I need to let them out a little longer or just keep essentially burping the bags an hour or so and trim the rest or allow them to get super crispy and allow more chlorophyll to break down I just do not know the answer here so hoping more experienced guys can help me out

Stems dont always snap. I had that issue. Check the bud's every now and then. I would check the stems first, but stems dont always snap when dry in my experience

Get yourself some Mason jars as well. You spent how much on everything and your curing in ziplock bags . I just use jars, i think its better

Hey man thanks for the reply. Yeah I was using the ziplocks as like an middle ground BEFORE I put them in jars ... I just didn't know if they were ready so I wanted to allow some air exchange but I'm assuming I should just Jar up and burp them? I'm assuming with time regardless the chrophyll will break down and leave me with Dank ..? I guess I'm just trying to avoid the grass smell as much as I can but I'm assuming until chrophyll breaks down I will smell it for 2 weeks to a month?

It passes over time. Could take a couple weeks

Put some in a jar with a hydrometer sealed up. You can check how moist they are by the humidity. You wanna aim for 60-65% humidity in the jar. If it gets over......open the lid for a few hours and reseal. Very easy to see how the buds are doing at this point

use walmart paper bags they are perfect only a 2in layer per bag just a thin layer of bud toss once in a while open daily a few times at first. works great

Thanks. That's the only thing I don't have jar hydro meters. Anyway to do this without them?
I mean I could get them but wouldnt probably get to me for another week with shipping and such. But I'll definitely look into them as they would take the guessing game out but what advice do you have for someone that doesn't have those right now? Is there anything particular to look out for in the jars? Particular smells etc? Thanks everyone for chiming in

When you burp the jars give it a couple shakes. If it moves around in one big lump its too moist. Leave the jar open for an hour or so once a day. If the nugs separate when you shake it your probably in the money zone. Burp for 10-20 mins. If they feel dry and are all loose in the jar.......probably too dry. Good place to start

You can take the buds out from the jar if they are too moist for the hour. Might have to burp a few times a day if its too wet

Awesome thank you. I'll start from there then so far the the bags they kinda stick together sort of not so I'll go ahead and trim the rest of my buds and jar them and follow your advice and just go from there. I think this has good potential.. smells potent I just get that grassy smell from sealing up over a couple hours I suppose the burp' ing and time will take care of the rest ...big thanks

If you can't use jars yet, go get some paper grocery bags and some heavy (3 mil. At least) black contractors garbage bags make sure they are contractors bags because they are unscented. Put the buds in the paper sack and then put a few paper sacks into the contractors bags. Twist the plastic shut and then open it and the paper bags a couple times a day. It works really well and its faster to do than opening a hundred jars a few times a day. And cheaper too.
Good luck friend!
