Ive had great results with the portable (fits in your pocket) Flowermate v5.0s but they make newer digital ones now iirc for a similar price. It can get herb dark brown and battery life is excellent! Get extra dry pods if you're a heavy smoker or will be using it socially. I dont have much experience with desktop vapes but it seems you want portable.

I got my wife a Magic Flight Launch Box- it's quirky-looking, but very compact and works well.
I paid $77 for it on eBay, it's made in San Diego and has a lifetime warranty

I just recently went down the rabbit hole of research when I decided to buy a portable vape.

What I decided on is not really as portable as I wanted but I do have versatility. And it fits in a pocket if your pocket is big enough!

I went with a box mod, the Joyetech Cubis. 200 watts, firmware is upgradable. I am running Arctic Fox on it.

For a dry herb atomizer I chose the Divine Tribe V2. It is ceramic and rebuildable when the coil needs replacement. I wish it were larger capacity but it gives great flavorful hits.

For concentrates I chose the Humboldt Vape Tech Sai atomizer with the titanium bucket with top airflow cap. I used this for the first time last night and it works really well. Not as well as a full dab rig with a torch but you can't fit one of those in your pocket at all.

I got it all on sale a couple weeks ago for around $150.

As far as counter top vaps, I've owned and happily used an Arizer Extreme Q for about four years. Does the trick nicely...

Why did you not lead with this information?
Have you tried a vape out?
It seems to me that with two friends who have vapes of unspecified brand or type, you could smoke a charge from each of theirs, and test the premise (on two different types possibly; two different units surely).
That would give you personal experience, which I suggest is more useful than advice obtained for free on the Internet.

At which point you could report back on how your experience aligns with your expectations.

I saw them after I decided to buy it, and It came out as A topic when I hang with them.. I didn't know they smoked on vaps, so that whole convo made me really doubtful about buying it.. But one of my friends promised to me that he will ask a dude who has it (and claims he keeps in in her draws coz he's disappointed with it) that he lend him for me to try it.. I hope this makes any sense..my english is rusty as fck..

Arizer solo 2 is an awesome vape. Get extra glass straws (mouthpiece bits) when you have use them a while they can shatter just falling over. I have had an air1 a solo 1 and a utilian 720 and the solo is my favorite of them all. Clean tasty vape and easy to use. Great between charges life too. You will be happy you did. The air line is harder to draw off so solo is what i would get ;)

The utilian 721 has a wax fitting but i had some shatter in it and wow that plugged her up way inside where i can not rescue it. Everything tasted like shishkaberry for about a month.

The only problem with the solo and air from arizer is they are so efficient it is freaky. What a problem eh. It is like a 1/4 or a 1/3 of a gram that fits in it. They never clog because it is the evolotuion of the soldering iron vape gun (the straw has the holes so you just clean them out and have 5 or so loaded ready to go all the time).
