Dry ice??

So I have done dry ice hash or kief. Make sure you have 180 Mill bag give it plenty of time and don't shake too long. Any grocery store or ice company google it will have dry ice I pay 99 cents a pound for it and it at my local Fred Meyer. You want to do 2 ounce batches. Too much product will get you too much product in your Keef. A pound of shake as netted me over an ounce of Keef

Put 2 Oz's of weed in ur 5g bucket. Brake up the dry ice, add about 1.5lbs. Shake. Let sit a couple minutes, shake, let sit a couple min. Shake.

Dry ice is horrible to use to extract kief. It freezes the plant material to -107 which makes particles of it brittle dust which mixes in with the real kief you are after. It also freezes the trichombs so frozen that they shatter into shards and you end up with lots of un wanted trichomb stocks in your hash also. Do one run with it and look at your extracted product afterwards with a microscope and you will see shit loads of un wanted plant dust and broken trich stocks mixed with your kief.

That's why guys think they are yielding so much when using dry ice. They are yielding all kinds of shit in with their extracted kief.

Dry sift your kief or make water/ice bubble..much, much more superior results.

Yup, BcoG is right on the money. If you wanna get kief from 'buds' there are easier ways that don't involve ruining your product. I just bumped my dry sift tutorial. Give it a look.

It's not always who has the best way to do extract. I'm sure as human beings we will always figure out ways to improve on what we're doing. When I first started growing I wanted extracts. Some things we do are easier than others and because we may have found a better way to extract something, doesn't mean the original ways we have invented to extract are bad. When you jump on to somebody's thread and say my way is better, my way is better, my way is better, I hate, I hate, I hate, do it my way, do it my way. Well I think you get the point. So when people come on and they start a thread and they what questions to the thread. Let's answer the thread help them with the question at hand then we can give them our ideas. These guys come on and ask what they ask because they might have lack of money lack of knowledge lack of resources so let's just give them a hand with that they need. Did they can start a whole nother thread asking you about all of your ideas. I have done dry ice Keef. I have a lot of ideas on it he asked a specific question I answered the question. The thread is not about me it's about the OP

When we know facts to be true we are going to point the OP in that direction. Nobody needs bad info. He is free to make up his own mind or inquire further if he has any additional questions.

Nobody said their method was better, he is stating facts of what dry ice does at a certain temperature to resin and the other material present.

Cheers.

Iv always got good results with dry ice, I think it's more about the tek used, if you use a 220 you only need to agitate for like 15seconds or less and will have mostly tricombs....
Edit
also, I feel like I get better hash using fresh material with dry ice extraction

It is a great way to get a nice yield for sure, and if you don't have any other screens or way, a bag will work in a pinch. I've seen quite a few people do tutorials on this but i've never seen any products up close under a scope. The color is nice but as we know, looks can be deceiving.

I think the important part to most of the mesh screen style extractions is amount of time agitating the material, good starting product dosent hurt either, but I do know you can get some pretty tasty melty stuff with dry ice

For sure can't over agitate with dry sifting. Lots of people do it on purpose and it kills me. Oh well, lol.
