Drying herb in 2020

Just wondering how everyone is drying there buds in 2020 ? Temps , humidity , low humidity, grow tents , basements, branches , full plant hanging . I know theres ao many ways to do it. I just wanna know what y'all are doing

Same thing I was doing in 2019, 2018, and for years before. Wet trim, hang or place on trays until dry. Jar up and smoke as needed.

I chop and hang plant whole . I keep temps between 65-70 degrees and have a dehumidifier set at 55% and a humidifier set at 50% so it stays right in between 50-55% after 7 days if its not a little crispy on outside I’ll lower the rh by 5% everyday but keep my temps the same 65-70 degrees. Then once crispy to the touch but still moist on inside and stems snap instead of bending I then begin my trimming right into glass jars. I’ve been growing a long time so I’ve gotten to know when to burp and how long to burp jars for once it stays consistent and buds seem to get really crispy I then throw in the Boveda packs usually 2-3 weeks into the curing process with jars. Everyone has there own methods and do what works for you. Some say dehumidifiers take away smell and terps in my exsperience I can’t say that to be true everyone loves my final end product so much that once I’m good they stop going to dispensary’s and grab off me because of the taste and how good it is. Idk this method works well for what I do but that’s it. Hope this helps Cheers

First off thanks for the reply. I'll take all this into consideration I apreciate any advice i can get. So Idk what kind of room your drying in but I'm going to be trying in my 3x3x5 tent . should I have my exhaust and filter on ? Its a 4 inch inline fan a pretty good one. But my humidty is usally around 20 or 16 when the fans on but I'm also growing in the tent currently. Im planning on getting a humidifier so i can get rh up to 50-55 . so do you recomend I use the exhaust fan and humidifier at the same time ? And also should I keep the humidifier in the tent while im drying my herb?

I would keep humidifier in tent and set it to 50% so it stays in between 45-55% and I always keep my carbon filter going I live in a non legal state and they stink of dank even more imo once drying and I also use smell to know if it’s drying to quick you get that hey smell like cut grass not good carbon filter for me contains the smell just to my room. I’ve grown some dank ass strains where 2 carbon filters were need 1 on floor just sucking in smell and air into room and spitting it right back into room and carbon filter at the ceiling level takes it all out but to me it lessens the load on the ceiling 1. But make sure humidifier isn’t shoot at the plant I have my humidifier facing back corner opposite of carbon filters. And sometimes I’ll use my tornado oscillating fan and have it go across floor level just to keep air moving all around but when I run the other carbon filter no need for that fan but good luck. Just take what works for you from everyone in the group really good bunch of people ready to help but take whatever bits and pieces and make it work for you! Hung branches in 2018.....Last yr I bought a foldable 5 layered mesh cart on wheels.........Just as good and way more convienient.

Kept humidity at 40-50%.

I do my shit like it’s 1975; trim off the big leaves, cut whole plant just once at the base, hang dry for 8/10 days, finish trimming and jar it up. No boveda or hygrometer needed...
Pro tips:
If the stems crease over without an audible snap it’s not dry enough to jar yet.
Once the bud is inside the jar don’t seal it up right away, place the lid on loosely overnight....
Next day get your face in that jar and inhale deeply; if it smells like dank weed and bud is dry to the touch you are good to seal up the jar....if it smells like hay or a freshly cut lawn you fucked up

My grow is a walk in closet in the master bedroom.

I have built a stud wall that gives me a 3ft wide and 10ft long walk way from entry down to the closet.

there are no heaters or lights or windows in this walk way. It stays pretty cool.

I have hanging line across the ceiling from wall to stud wall that I hang my plants on.

I dont monitor RH or temps of this area.

there is a small gap under the closet door but I do not use this walkway for intake or exhaust.

I Cut an entire branch and wet trim all buds in the branch including any side branching.

then i hang the branch Up in my walkway.

I hang until my buds feel crispy but still have flex to the stems

Usually takes around 7-11 days in the walkway.

then I pop the buds in containers and add a BOVEDA62 pack and check on them daily for moisture content and to see whether I take the boveda62 out and leave the lid off for some time etc.

then once I’m happy I just use it to refill my small downstairs jar (the daily)
