Drying in a hurry! please help!

Hey guys, my plant is about a week or two away from harvest time but since it is 420, i cant help but take a snip of a small nug and try it out! only problem is im not sure how to dry it in an hour or so.

Does anyone know of a way i can dry a nug right from being cut to smoke?

I wish I knew I pulled some off my Power Skunk like 4 days ago and I was able to smoke today. Good thread Ill be tuned in to find out also.

so does anyone whos done it before have any good methods? i read up on microwaving and using the toaster oven but not totally sure about it

defrost on and off 5 sec intervals for bout 3--40 secs... and wiping excess moisture each time. Tastes like crap but smokable..

it aint gonna happen bro. and if you do get it dried enough to smoke it today, its gonna taste like a leaf that fell in dog shit out in your yard....sorry, there prob is a way i just dont know of one where it would be worth it....you cant go buy a 20 or sumthin?

if you leave it on top of a hps lamp for an hour or sioo youll be able to smoke but again it will taste like a shitaco

also the potency will suffer alot, at least in my experience. i tried it and was thinking of doing a nug today if it worked but both times i tried it (microwave 1rst one, 2nd tried both a toaster and putting it in the top drawer above my stealth dresser grow) and it sucked so i bit the bullet and decided to buy another 20 to get me through the curing phase so im not tempted so much anymore lol.

did the same thing. had to. i figure i smoke the bud in two days it should be ready. i still have some smoke. but it wont last till 4-30 when i havest

theres a few ways to dry it. microwave would be one, using a heater is another, anything that will draw heat and take out the moisture.

but, doing these method will effect the resin and potency of the bud. it will be smokeable but not good tasting.

true. thanks guys. after doing a little bit more research, im going to try the toaster oven method with it 5 minutes in, 10 out for about an hour or so

thats not the right way! u should put it on the lowest setting and have the door open and put the bud on top of the microwave oven for an hour or about that while flipping em every 20 min. they need to be wrapped up in paper towel to absorb the bud moisture too

i think the best you can do is put the weed right under a lamp and wait til you think its done

Here is the real deal and I aint kidding I have done this and many many many other methods...go buy a CERAMIC SPACE HEATER. Simply put the heater about a foot or so away from the buds and keep it on low, in about 30 min to an hour your bud will be ready to roll. It wont be as flavorful as something done right obviously but it will do in a pinch and it is a lot less hassle and tastes a lot better than the microwave trick in my opinion. Good Luck!

if you want a method im in the process of drying using glass jar running hott hott water on the outside of the glass until the glass is warm/hot more warm with top on and weed inside leave top on for about 20 min then open jar until the jar is as cool as it should be and then repeat process dry and cure at the same time it seems to be bringing that good smell out alot quicker than the oven and microwave when it comes to drying and keeping quality..its my first grow/harvest so if u think imdoing something that sounds out there let me know but im running with my common sense right know but hope i help someone

steam method!!!best quick dry method in my opinion

put a paper towel in a tupperware container. then fold over a paper towel 5 or 6 times, wet it (not dripping, just moist), and put it over the top. then put the tupperware top over it, leaving all but 1 corner or so unsealed. put in a microwave on low or defrost for 45-75 second intervals, taking 20 or 30 seconds between heatings to let the steam dissipate.in 3-5 minuts you have smokable nugs! this method is better than just sticking it in the mic because it preserves thc and taste wayyyy better!

Hey guys, so to give an exact run down of what i did, i put the toasteroven on bake at around 150 deg F, placed the bud cut up into small, but not tiny pieces onto a piece of tin foil, and had a rotation of placing it in the oven and cooling it off. about 10 minutes of each for about an hour. the results were better than expected. the high was a heady high but that was expected because its about 2 weeks before its due for harvesting. but smoking out of a bowl, it really had no taste.

one thing i did notice was that the bud shurnk significantly. this is my first grow and maybe that happens normally after curing/drying but take a look at the pics below and see how much it shrunk.

if you need a frame of refrence, the 5 tip leaf there is about 3 inches long.
