Drying in grow room while other plants are still growing.

So have a bit of a issue and am going to have to harvest 1 plant before the other two, prob a week apart maybe
Photos show one almost ready and the other 2 are 2-3 weeks off yet.
Can i hang them in the grow room while the others are finishing? Or does anyone have any other ideas cause they'll stink if i hang them anywhere else.

I did it with my first grow. I was drying above my lights in a shed. And I did the same with the second one but once they were almost dried I moved them into dark place.

Some will say it is "no no" to dry near lights as light kills all good stuff in drying buds but nobody complained about my buds and they were coming back for more.

Hmm yeah I heard the light can degrade it..
Wonder if I could just let the one thats going be ready next week another 1-2 weeks past harvest so I can chop em all at once?

I’m in the same boat as you. Growing in a 2x4x7 cabinet that is vented outside. I got two plants 7 weeks in to flower now and one is sooo far behind I don’t know what the hell to do. How big is your flower room ?
 
I wouldn't dry near lights if it's avoidable. Like they say, light produces thc until the moment of harvest then it degrades it. I would try to figure something else out.

I'd wait until they are all ready then chop all at once. That first pic doesn't look ready, looks like it will gain more weight over the next two or three weeks anyways.
 
My hps tent will force dry the bud with the extraction and heat but my t5 flouro tent will work. Forcing the bud too quick is bad.

If it works it works but try drying just outside the tent to see differences.

Personally i just hang dry in my living room, its dry after a week and smooth after two. Theres no special requirements to dry bud but dont dry to quick or allow it to mold in longer more humid drys, should be pretty simple. Buds dry when it smokes well in a joint for reference, leave it longer and youll be fine :-)

light will degrade thc....over a period of several weeks.
the reason it's not a good idea to dry in your grow room is heat and low humidity, which will make them dry way too fast. the chlorophyll, carbs, and sugars will not have anywhere near enough time to break down, and your weed will be harsh and taste like crap. if you have no alternative, do what you have to do, but i'd keep a very close eye on it and put it in paper bags as soon as it even starts to dry out, to slow it down as much as possible

as to letting a plant go another week, its probably fine...most people pull too early anyway, and could use another week or two to begin with. as long as you aren't to the point where you have more amber trichs than milky, i would let it go and not worry about it
 
Is there a closet in the room? In your OP you didn't specify if the room is an open room or a tent. I veg,flower and dry in the same room.Tents and a closet.Takes some environmental adjustment and control but it works for me and the finished product.

I've used the restroom(extra unused by anyone),shower curtain rod and clothes hangers.Gauge for temp and rh,the restroom vent fan and a small ocillating fan for air circulation worked also when the closet can't be used due to the environment in the summer.
Roger's tip about the paper bag is a good one. It really helps to slow down the dry in harsh environments.It also allows for redistribution of moisture for an even dry.

It's a closet thats completely sealed, if i hang them outside that room it's going to stink to fuck, i have a filter/carbon running in that room on negative pressure.

Yeah, im hoping the first photo will swell a bit more, def leaving it another week or so to see.
And the others prob have 2 at least.. maybe more.
If it's not that bad to leave it 2 weeks ill just do that and harvest all at once?

I could but it would only be for this current grow as i chose seeds that wouldn't finish at the same time, I'd prefer just to hold off on the plant thats meant to be 8weeks and let it go to 9-10 with the other two plants if it won't hurt it too much?

Another thing the OP can do to slow down the drying process is dry trimming. I've had to dry in less than idea environments in the past and leaving all the bud leaves intact really helped stabilize things in high heat/low rh situations.

That's what I did by drying each harvest one by one above lights on a mesh shelf. There was some light reaching that section of a shed but it was no direct light, only what was reflected there. And I did not hung them I had them laying in a drawer,
I have really some metal mesh drawers from a metal cabinet. The mesh is tiny so I kept them in that drawer which allowed airflow all the way around buds. Basically they were completelly dry in 48 hours considering it was Summer and I had at least +30 degrees Celsius in the shed.
 
BTW, when I said they completelly dried in 48 hours it is not an exact way to describe it. After 48 hours they felt dry and all buds were kind of soft. Their stems would have not snapped if I had tried it, However after I moved them to a completelly dark place they were kept drying. And now all their softness has gone. They feel really hard if I try to squeeze them and all stems can be snapped now.

Agreed,I failed to mention to mention that.I dry trim mainly.There are certain instances where I wet trim,but it's rare.Only large fans come off.
 
I sometimes put drying untrimmed bud in a big paper shopping bag and hang in flower tent to get started and to take advantage of the carbon filter. Must be careful as it can dry quicker than you think and I trim fan leaves only before drying. A bag in a bag will adjust drying speed.
