Drying in ziplock bags? (%15 after first day)

Is it a good idea to dry inside open ziplock bags?

Trying to leave them open to dry, then just pop them open to cure.

First day they lost %15 of weight - guessing they'll be dry in about 7 days and cured the week after.

Does this sound right? Think mold could be an issue?

Simple answer: no.

You should dry in an open container with holes in the sides to allow for airflow, ventilation (fans) is also a good idea.

Yes mold could be an issue if you dry in ziplock bags, even if they're open.

I use a hygrometer. Many growers do. Cal3 from amazon or eBay. Best thing for helping to take the guess work out of curing.

Aye that's the big issue.
However I do agree with danny, you need a hygrometer for drying & curing.
I have about 4 hygrometers.
1 for the mother room, 1 for the flowering room, 1 for drying and 1 for curing ^^

Eh, you don't need them. I've been curing for 10+ years, after a while you just get a feel for it.

I've only been doing it for a year (full time) and I think I still need hygrometers. 10+ years gives you an advantage. Comparatively, I'm a novice weed grower, but a master gardener. (20+ years)

Well I applaud you for doing it without meters, that's experience :)
I always use them even though I have extensive experience, I just feel more safe with them there, especially since I don't always grow alone.

Just use paper bags to dry. You could use a plastic bag when you cure. Most use mason jars. Dannyboy is right on with the hygrometer. It will let you get the feel of it without fucking up the process. Gives you a way better idea how "dry" they really are;)

I would not chop a plant and then bag it into open ziplock bags, one reason being a fear of mold. Just leave the plant out to dry openly for a couple days atleast, then bag it up, that is if you must use ziplock bags.
