Drying problem

you might be just fine, but id lower that rh anyways. other than the obvious dehumidifier, i have heard of a few tricks.

1. Get some silicon packets that you find it electronics packaging and whatnot. I am also not sure who might carry them locally at a store, but i hear its available at hardware stores.
2. Cat Litter. Again not really sure about this one, but ive heard of people spreading cat litter (possibly of a certain type?) on the floor of a drying box (small scale) to absorb moisture in the air.
3. Damprid. This is a product i just stumbled upon in some other threads. No idea how well it works or even how it works, as i didn't want to sit through the cheesy vids on their site lol.

i would have included rice with that, but i think the point was across on the kind of thing you would be looking for when going down that road. I am betting those silica packets or a hanging Damprid towel might be your best bet. Also, air movement will dissipate rh as well, so even if you can just move the air enough in the box without overdoing it on the buds themselves, that might shave off a few % as well. Cool thanks for the info! What if I let the fan blow on it "directly" would that help or hurt my situation?

Not a good idea to have the fan blowing directly on the nugs. Best to go with one or more of KK's suggestions, and check them regularly.

Iam willing to bet since your rh is due to your areas weather and not just the moisture in the box itself (from the buds drying), the fan probably wont help. I think your best best is looking into one of those other options or just investing in the dehumidifier =(

I live in the mountains of Costa Rica where the humidity is rarely below 80%. You might find that hard to believe but in the tropics at 6500 ft above sea level it rains daily every day and the clouds roll through without warning at anytime of day or night. Sometimes it takes up to a month or more for my babies to dry properly. The best success I have found in these conditions is keeping the plant whole, allowing it all the time it needs to dry but keeping the air moving around the plants. I have had no problem with mold and have had some of the smoothest smoke of my life. When planning my crops now I know that it takes as long for me to dry and cure the baby as it took me to grow and flower them but hey it's always worth the wait.

ive tried damp rid and it works but for the price save the money and go for a de humidifier. also if you have a few degrees of play in your temps you can consider a small heater which will warm air thus lowering humidity (hot air holds more water). if you are really on a tight budget, fill up some 2 liters with water and put them in the freezer. place them on a rack over a bucket with a fan blowing down. It is basically a ghetto dehumidifier. The water will condense on the 2 liter and drip to the bucket. Honestly if you have a large crop the ghetto dehumidifier will not cut it. Hope this helps

Thats awesome I might have to do that next time :bigjoint: I just got done drying my plants after 5 1/2 days I didn't plan on stopping but when I checked them for the last time they seemed too dry. Basically my plan revolved around keeping the air moving to dry them. Well it worked pretty well the buds are dry and slightly moist the only problem is the smell was nonexistent after that. So I stuck them in some jars for the past couple days and now the buds smell and look good. I plan on smoking some tonight for the first time so hopefully everything worked

Buy a Quick cure net and leave a small fan blowing on it. It wont matter the humidy.
