Drying question

Ok so i let my plants finish their 8wk flowering cycle... chopped them and hung them upside down in the cupboard for about a week, ive had asmoke of it and its not as frosty or dry as some of my mates stuff - should i have let it dry for longer???

I used cfl's for growth and flowering which to be honest didnt result in a great yield (i got an oz off 5 plants basically) and im just wondering if HPS gives you more bud which dries to a crumbly texture as you can still see bits of leaf in mine from round the edges which im thinking is gonna affect the smoke even tho i did my best to trim.

How long should i aim to dry for and is there any way to dry it out now that it has been bagged up and not as dry as i would have liked - thanks guys.

Your drying time will be longer in a closed up environment like inside a cupboard.

A little leaf doesn't really affect the smoke, cured properly even leaf is smooth and mellow.

Just take it out of the bag and put them on metal trays, or cardboard or plastic lined with aluminum foil(most metals aren't porous, so you don't have to worry about them degrading/leeching THC/CBN/flavor from your smoke). They also don't hold moisture, ensuring a better, more consistent drying.

when you say put it in a tray do you mean put it in the oven on a tay to qucik dry it or where and for how long???

In a dark cool(around 60-70F) place. A cookie sheet would work. I'm not talking about quick drying. I don't recommend quick drying for anything other than sampling a taste.

You could put it in the oven, as long as it's off and stays off. It's a fairly sanitized place, considering the extreme temperatures of baking foods in it.
