What's the shortest amount of time a plant can dry after harvesting without having a hay or grass smell? I'm curious because I'm worried about my drying conditions.

the longer you cure your buds in jars the more smell you will gain back instead of the hay/grass smell. dont forget to burp the jars while still in the first week or 2 of curing.

what temperature and humidity should the place i dry my buds be at and how long will it take ¿? or will it not make a difference if i do it in a cardboard box? ( thats what my friend said)

good conditions would be 72-82f and humidity low around 30%. i hang mine in a cardboard box, and when crispy (3-6 days) i cut the nug off the stalks and put them into jars for curing. burping the jars 1 or 2 times a day until the smell comes back, 1 week to several months depending on how long you can wait.

How much have you got? you got a growing tent? coz if you a growing tent. Just get a drying basket hang it in there. they drop down to 10 tier. Leave exhaust with the carbon filter. Dehumifier. But if you constantly hav circulation of you keep it 40%. Really i Wouldn't go lower than that. it all be to dry. I should take 5 to 8 days before you cure it. you even dryness before it's even cure.

Ventilation and hopefully good conditions. If the humidity in your area isn't around 45% to 55% then you probably need to add some kind of moisture control. Damp Rid might help a little, a dehumidifier (or humidifier in some places) are probably your options. Just keep the humidity under 60% and above 30% and you'll be alright, 75 50% is perfect but there are other ways of doing it.

Ok so it's gunna be around 80 degrees in my tent in my garage. Not sure about humidity. It's pretty dry. Typical so cal weather. I was thinking about putting wet toweles on the ground to keep it a lil moist. Help with a slower dry. I'm not really worried about mold because of the temperature. My friend told me to do this but I need some oppinions. Has anyone herd of this? Thanks

You want to make sure you don't dry too fast or the chlorophyll won't have time to escape. Don't want to dry too slow cause you run the risk of mold and mildew. Time depends a lot on the size and density of the buds. Humidity and temps are very important also. You just have to dial in your conditions and learn from the previous time. It took me a few times before I got it right. Good luck.
