Drying under lights

I have just been round to my mates who has a few lights going and he takes his plants down in a rotation so when he trims then he turns the light off above the plants he has trimmed and hangs the plants where they were growing in the same room as the rest of the flowering plants with the other lights on 12/12 still going he said he’s been doing this for the last ten years I have always been told you must dry in a pure dark space I’m just curious on people’s opinion and is there a right and wrong way of doing this

How is his quality? What's the high/taste/burn like?

From what I understand ( and I’m a new grower but heavily read and study ) at night is when the plant does all its energy digesting and continues to produce trichomes .Light degrades thc . Even tho the plant is already cut down it still utilizes whatever nutrients are still absorbed in it’s colas . I could be wrong . Just my 2 cents .

I dry my buds 12 on 12 off in the flowering area. I've been doing this for years.
No complaints.
If I've run out and I need a quick smoke I'll stick a couple of 2 day old chopped buds on a radiator or even worse in the microwave to dry out enough to smoke! Oh the sacrelige.....:bigjoint:

Mate my mate says he has been drying them that way for ten years he swears by it

I was looking at inter canopy lighting earlier today and came across this video
Check out 2mins 15 seconds in video below, looks like buds drying with the lights on, maybe not...... anyway it works ok

In the past, due to space constrictions, I had to dry in my flower room. I just hung the branches above my lights...air cooled 600w has...not ideal, but it worked.
After growing and learning and trial and error, I learned low, slow and dark is the best method for me as well.

i have experimented with mw drying, i found that a verry low setting and long gaps between mw bursts did work at a pinch, but id rather go without then zap em again
