Drying you Marijuana

I had heard on here that 5 days usually does it sometimes 7. I have tried this before a couple of times. Also it says in the faq that 2 weeeks is the longest you should dry it for. I will have them in a dark room hanging from a line with a fan on. 2 weeks doesn't make the stem snap though. They are still bendable. The temp should stay at no higher than 79 degrees f. Not sure what the humidity will be like at this time of year. What do you guys and gals think?

Only have a fan exchanging the air. Never blow a fan directly on them because they will not dry evenly. The less stem, the less water the bud will have to leach out.
I like to put them in a jar right before the stem breaks and burp the jars a few times. This lends a hand to better flavors.

Just wrote a ditty on this last weekend, the slower the better, the 7 day thing is more about commercial if you can control a slow process via proper temps & humidity for 3 to 6 weeks you will get better buds and it is not that hard to do

the ditty is in my calling all noob growers thread (sig link) page 41, there is also a secret hippie technique explained

I think your gonna find that different growers use different techniques. Ive tried more than a few over the years.
I dry in a portion of my grow area thats separated with black poly to keep it dark, air circulates but doesnt blow directly on the buds. Temps stay kinda warm because my exhaust goes through that area.
I keep it simple and just hang the whole plant after trimming the fan leaves off for 1 day.

The next day i trim the buds and cut as much stem off as possible and then hang them again. As soon as the outside of the buds feel crispy and the stems are almost to the point of being able to snap I jar them in Mason Jars. I take them out the next day for an hour and put them back in. I then repeat daily until ready, doesnt take long at all.
