Dtw first couple autofeed setups

Build up of white stuff. Need more frequent watering I think.

Yeah you will get salt build up on those bags but it’s not a big deal as long as you’re getting proper runoff every watering. I like to caution on the side or extra runoff just to be safe. With one plant you’re probably better off hand watering couple times a day being in such a small space. Just looks hard to work with the plumbing and getting it dialed in. But if you have to leave it for any length of time an auto setup is best.

Yea I meant the top of the coco has white buildup of hopefully just salt. Yea or dirt but I always thought dirt was hard but coco is teaching me that it is just as simple and maybe better for this.

I still am determined to make a dtw 1x1, I just have trouble making it work as is but it is fixable or just needs more dialing in.

The resivoirs are under 5gal so yes it will be almost redundant to run but it still has its perk just needing a quick refill or runoff tossed. It is daily though which sucks. My 2x2 is making me adamant on a 16-20gal resivor and runoff container next time or else it is redundant.

That is why I placed this thread here, welcoming folks to help design this 1x1. How would you set the resivors and everything to make it ornamental but barely worth it?

Something about the pumps and hoses make this so futuristic or mechanically satisfying. A site to behold but still not an eye sore considering everything you are working against.

Next deseign would need to be like an extra 2’ tall with resivor and runoff tub under the unit and taller space for led light but then it is too narrow and tall. Maybe build a cabinet beside it to hold resivors and only a foot taller for light/plants.

I would try to get the same chips in the light but for side panels but now I am stepping into DIY lights and that is nerve racking (hazard.) Could buy a flat panel and put clear covers on them but I must say I stole that idea.

Keeping this in coco makes it more replicable so I can just focus on these problems and not media issues but again, recently realized dirt ain’t all that hard. I originally grew dirt my first few grows.

If I do coco though I would like ideas to have it hold itself up for at least 3 days or else, redudant.

It is growing fast. I think I found the sweet spot for socket timer and about to set it up for a few times a day and possibly up to 5x a day. Hoping that helps keep surface of coco cleaner.

It is feeding and draining good, just took a while of growth and practice working with this quickly flowing halo structure.

Welp, the socket time I got is so hard to use I cannot figure out if it is broken. So much after market vibes like what the heck. Never had to return something because it just outright makes no sense. At least I got another on its way that I think will work as it should.

I am not the only one, many reviews of people saying the same thing. If you can suggest help, it would be appreciated. I set interval timing and click ok and nothing happens. It must be broken. It can power the outlet on and off but the interval cycle timing will not initiate.

Do you see how to initiate the on/off cycles other than hitting ok?

Yeah it seems pretty normal anyway. Just do a YouTube search for that timer and you will most likely find a video of it and how it works. From what I read you can set up to 8 different on off cycles on each group so a total of 16 on/off cycles. You shouldn’t ever need that many but it’s nice to have options

No results found, and a review says they are almost impossible to find so not looking like I have any way of figuring it out without it being redundant.

Like too much time spent and it is making me want to figure it out but it doesn’t help that some reviews say they broke on arrival and not knowing if that is my situatuon. Anyway, it was worth a shot haha.

Edit I searched the model number too.

day 30, switch time. Would you look at that, it is! It is a female. Should see this in every node at any moment. Found one at first glance, will update with more at end of week. So far autos have been very punctual, preflowers spotted on day 30.

This works because I have like no space to fill in but I apply same tactic with 2x2. Anything larger I would opt for a photo plant.

Finally! Got a socket timer that was straight forward to set up. Man handled some branches to get canopy as low as possible. Feeds 3 times a day at 30 seconds.

Bowl of lettuce. Nodes just keep going up. I must say, it is either the crappy space to work with or the lst clips just aren’t as good as I expected. Preflower photo. The pistol looks like a leaf or those sharp blades that females produce but it is a pistol. Just could not get a better photo of it.

My last run with auto had pre flowers in ever node on day 30, this one is taking its time.

Does PM have a smell? Does it smell like a pungant dirt? This white stuff believed to be salt build up has a strong smell but my other plant has a similar smell but not as strong.

This isn’t PM is it? If it is, I am done with this lol unless it is not which I still think it may not be.

That’s is salt buildup on the bag and the coco. Maybe up your runoff but the bags seem to always get some salts to them so I wash mine after I do a grow in them. PM is like a flour looking powder that’s on the leaves.

Never had it stink before or else I wasn’t alarmed by it. Poor irrigation that just barely makes the cut. Shallow pot. Just rough drafting things before I build a better box. Shallow pot for more space. I guess I have to build extra tall space instead.

I was about to feel hopeless about the project but if you think its salt then that is good. Thought I was just making a rot box and still might be on that track.

Might start topping and pruning. I do not want to end up just doing a smaller version of what I learned was a risky crop in a 2x2.

Latest lesson was do not be affraid to down size things to the space. Anything as small as 2x2 literally has its growth limits. 3 gallons was too much. So I did 2gal for 1x1? I do things before thinking it out too much lol. This needed a gallon tops.

Yeah I do things same way only think of it one way and go all in then end up changing everything to make it work instead of taking some time to think of everything and do it once and done. But that is what I find fun to keep finding different ways of doing things

The auto feed is still working good. Not gaining more salts. It is saturated well and switched to maxi for flower. Seeing tiny pistols everywhere. Another week or two until it should be full blown flowerin’.

Already at my canopy limit so that part is going horrible. Smells amazing but wow no smell outside the box yet, that is not usual to my expirience.

So the original strip light setup was better and will have to reposition it like it was. Dimming the ufo led next to off position and probably off entirely when buds are about that height but I learned to go lighter on the lights anyway by then, then it just ripes for a month.

That said this will end up being a space booth. Even if I succeeded to keep canopy shorter, it still would of out grown it I am sure. Long as I make it to harvest.

Oh another thing, this run got me adjusted to pruning and def autos. This plant took it like a champ. I have to prune and def in such small space if you want to reach anything or see anything.

I was going to say you should trim it some as your lighting isn’t that powerful so anything under the canopy is wasted and all the leafs laying on top of each other is a recipe for PM. I defol couple times throughout the grow normally at day 1 of flip and around day 21 and as long as you don’t strip it they handle it just fine

So the 2x2 rotted completely, had a very dense canopy. Many buds that were white from no light. No air flow. The 1x1 was just a smaller version of the 2x2, I know it would of turned out the same way so I tossed the 1x1 plant. Lessons were learned.

The break I have had was nice to get rest and rethink the grow next time and so I have an idea. I think this might work, check out the drawing of the plant I am thinking of doing next time in a half gal ffof.

I would be getting back in touch with dirt skills which I already am seeing how much easier it makes things. It would complete the grow box aside from maybe another fan inside there. It would stay a simple booth shape or cabinet and be ready to go.

The ufo would start dimming to pretty much off by time the plant reaches the drawing in size. 45w setup, just water every few days or so.
