just a few Qs... I have a 120 X 120 X200cm grow tent. could I use a light like this for veg then put 600w hps light and ballast for flowering? Or would I be better of sticking to the Dual 300w CFL? plan on using some type of auto flowering seed/

Hiya domyst, all Depends on what route you want to take? Hps/Mh = more Lumens and CFL is bit Less Lumens but also alot less Heat..

I Started with a 200w Dual Spectrum CFL and now also have a 250Mh/Hps setup..and moving up to 600w setup in the NewYear..

Heat and Airflow are important...when choosing Light setup

If you after Cheap and Cheerful this is the 250w setup I went with...£65 off Fleabay (hydrovate1_99.9% Positive Feedback)

I cool a 400watt hps. In my closet with a stand up fan temps stay 80 never understanded why ppl need huge fans for little watts but my house is a constant temp

Heat shouldn't be too much of an issue in a properly controlled grow tent, it's pretty easy to regulate air flow to keep temperatures 75-85 degrees, so using CFLs only because of the heat issue isn't a very good reason. Go with the HID MH or HPS. Preferably a High Pressure Sodium if you are only able to have one.

Ideally you would use a 600w MH light for vegging, then switch it over to your 600w HPS once you go 12/12. Or 250w, or 1000w, whatever you end up getting.

I don't know if I would recommend an AF seed, just be sure it's feminized. Always a sad day when you have 5 plants growing and all but one turn out to be male.

Good luck with your grow!
