Dual speed fan controllers QUESTION? THX.

Hi All. I have a question about all the Dual speed fan controllers, and which one I should select for my setup.

Tent setup. I want a dual speed fan controller for my carbon filter/4" vortex fan exhaust. One that during the day goes to about 50% and during the night idles down to about 20%. I see all these dual speed controllers are all hung up on temperature. They have an idle speed/day temp, or a night temp/day temp. Do they all just turn the fan on 100% when they hit this daytime set-point? Can I set it to run the fan at say 50% once it hits the daytime set-point? I can't have it power the fan over a certain % or it will overrun my filter's capabilities, be too loud, and be just too much exhaust. I will add some active chilled intake controlled by temperature, but I want less exhaust at night, and MORE during the day, just not FULL.

Quick background I have a 4x4 Secret Jardin with a newly installed 1000w quantum dimmable running a Sunmaster 1000w HPS. I previously had an old magnetic 1000 which probably was putting out less than 1000. It's cooled separately of the tent with a 6" vortex running at about 40%. Then for filtration I have a 4" vortex with a can9000, running at what used to be about 25%. But with the new ballast I have to turn the exhaust up to about 50% get the temps under control. I am using two 4" just passive intakes but I'm going to change that out to active intake bringing in 72 degree air, as needed. When cool air is not needed the intake will go passive. My plan for the exhaust fan is to just run like I said, 2 speeds, low at night, MEDIUM during the day. But I'm having a hard time finding a controller that does this, or I'm just not understanding how they work.

Hope that all makes sense. Any advice would be appreciated. Regards.

It's pretty common to have the exhaust fan turn up for the day and down at night. I just want one that has 2 Variable Speeds. Not variable for the night and full blast for the day.

Everything else is irrelevant to the question I'm just explaining how I deal with high temps. Similarly to a lot of other people. I guess I don't understand what you don't understand.

I just don't want to run the exhaust so hard during the night. It's just not necessary. But I'm finding with all these day night speed controllers, if I want that, I have to have it go full blast during the day and that's not favorable. I want a day speed and a night speed, neither 100%.

Someone will come along that knows these things then we'll be getting somewhere. Then just hold onto your hat woody!!!

i actually do know these things.......... but i dont know what the point of this is ...........just seems goofy.........turn em on let em rip ...........are u worried about using an extra hundred watts?

hook up another fan and a y connector... put em both on timers and speed controllers..........problem solved time wasted
