Who knows for sure, the government sure is shady though. And why would bush have said something about it, he already has his reign, apprehending Osama during his term doesn't do a lot other than to weaken public opinion of the war on terror. I'm not gonna argue one way or the other, but if we killed Osama the public has the right to see the body. After all, we got to see our fellow Americans leap to their death from the 90th floor of the world trade center, but we're too sensitive to see the dead body of Osama?

There is a reason nobody on the planet knows who our Seal Team 6 or Secret Agents are. They are secret. They are classified. Not a chance in hell they would be video taped. If they were, they would be securely covered up. And without a face -- everyone would think its a conspiracy anyway.. so what's the point.
And to be honest, I want to keep it that way. The men and women who serve our country deserve the upmost respect, including the ones who go in at the middle of the night and covertly capture and kill the most wanted man on the planet. reports for not releaseing the photo is not due to the sensitive nature of the photos themselves, and how the public will feel (horrified, scared, squeemish from the blood ect). but rather by releasing the photos, they fear OBLs zealots will use the photos for marterdome pics, and as fuel to further spur hatred of America, and infact persuade those zealots, maybe even the loner zealots that followed OBL, to take it upon them selves to make another attack.
impo, killing him will do that in and of itself. We shouldnt try to fool ourselves into thinking his death, regardless of when, or how it happened (could of been 5 yrs from now from kidney failure ), will spur these zealots into taking action. Its the hurdle thats part of the hurdle race. ie, to be expected. but they feel the picture of him with a hole in his head from a US Military weapon, will make these zealonts more zealotous in thier actions.
I find this perticularly moronic, and idiotic. They try to save some face, but performing some half-assed Burial Ritual, that undoubtably was a bad decision to do, as they did it mostly wrong, which now has offended many muslims regardless of who was killed.
they also have reported he did resist, but was Un Armed, yet was shot in the head? He should of been captured alive and taken into custody to stand up to a UN Trial for War Crimes agains Humanity. Killing him, only solidfied the zealots thoughts of us even more.
So not releasing the photo of OBL with a bullet hole in his head, will not make a bit of differance to those that followed OBL. They are going to do what the are going to do, and the fact he was killed while unarmed is far more incitefull than releasing a pic of him with an extra hole in his melon.
while i understand things didnt go as planned with a heli dropping out, but fact is, he should of been taken alive and tried and THEN put to death in a Public Execution, Showing HOW TERRORISTS that kill Thousands for self gains are treated.

I agree that it would have been better if he was captured alive, but given the circumstances I am sure that capturing him alive wasn't the first thing on the Seal's minds as they were getting shot at and had to worry about if they even had a way to get out of there. If it was me in that situation I would probably be trying to kill the guy trying to kill me too, sometimes things don't work out the way we want it. Even if he didn't have a weapon on him he is still dangerous, his posse still has weapons, and if it was me I would not hang around and wait for him to get a gun. All is fair in love and war.
