Dutch Grow

Well it has been a while since I have done a grow journal. Im still using apollo 400w dimmable system and love it-the ballast has worked and never overheated (fingers crossed). Great product really. My last posted grow was NYCD and SSH both were clones from a local collective. I have turned them over about three times now (cloned and flowered) and have two mothers goin on almost 2 years. I'm bored with the genetics and missed my old Dutchy beans so I got some. I wont say who I used but the delivery was perfect, stealthy and quick. I chose DP beans because I have had great sucess with their super haze back in the day. I found fem mix packs to be just what i needed. I have germed and will be babyin one of each of the following through veg over the next month or so: Blueberry fem, Mazar fem, Orange bud fem and a Nirvana bubblicious. I am excited and have heard all good things about them except blueberry so I am curious to see if the fem blues are picky. I am a soil grower mixing my own soil from a pot soil with lots of perlite...i like it this way and it works and use all organic ferts, green sand, blood meal and bone meal plus fish emulsion foliars now and then before flower. I am trying plastic grow bags instead of the space taking 5 gal bucket system i was using and may possibly try some fabric bags if I find I have room later for a 5 gal. I also got a pack of "outlaw" and will do those on their own on a different grow. Ill post pics when there is something worth seein. As with all my grow journs, comments are always welcome. This is how we learn :)

Good first week of growth. Blueberry is a bitch and I'll try the last one later. I am in week 2 of 8 weeks of flower in the 400w room so the kids are under flouro's. Mazar and Orange are on their second set of leaves (great genetics) and the OG kush is a very slow grower but growing, I'm sure she will be short. Bubblicious is an agressive gal.

Good growth (flor flourescent) lighting on all the dutch babies at 12 days from germination. (No pics yet)

My flowering nycd and ssh are looking quite buddy though under the 400w hps :D i tried a "last minute" scrog. basically the plants grew way too tall in the mother area. I used this same area for cloning as well under low flourescent, 30 watt, so i vegged them out for 29 days under 400w HID after "training" them sideways in the flowering area. I know 30 watt 6500k isn't the best but it does keep them slow growing (and alive) while the flowering area finishes. Ive been stuck with 8-9 week strains till recently. I used 4" plastic gardening trellis to pull down for my scrog and wire rack support connectors (hooked for wire garage racks-screwed to the walls) to pull the net. This works well. There are two photos, excuse the hps and the spots on the leaves are residual from neem. I had a really bad infestation of whiteflies last run and the crop was diminished from the norm by 75% and was pretty ruined. After adding the predatorial wasps as a preventative (these come in infected white fly larvae) but I think a few regular white flies get in the batches, I found eggs and a couple of whiteflies so I sprayed...day 12 of flower so I am hoping it will not affect flavor. Anyone have experience with neem and whether it affects taste? These bastards better not ruin this run...my NYCD has some thick vegetative growth (in general) so they are more suceptible to not spotting bugs early ;)

All the babies are still growin. Orange bud is the largest followed by my Mazar. The og kush and the bubblicious are slow to grow but doing well. I finally got my second mh/hps air cooled reflector. Im hoping to integrate it into the cabinet-it might just work. It is gonna be a very tight fit. The cabinet is 30" wide and the reflector is 24". I am thinking if i vent the cab with my max fan (max 334cfm) it should work quite well for a vegging chamber...im over the flourescent approach and i need these babies to get some quality lumen. Ill start with 200w (digital/dimmable 400w max) and see how it goes. Anyone had/have experience with running an air cooled reflecter inside a cabinet? With the walls so close (3" to spare each side) im thinking ill need the fan outside the cabinet. The cabinet is steel, 30" wide, 24" deep and 60" tall. What do you all think? I have this weeked to accomplish this task...finally some time!
