Yeah was looking at ventilation today...yep ur conversions are about right, 2ft x 3ft x 5ft, give or take...but im a bit miffed about all the different types of fans there are. The pic you put up, we call them UFO fans over here are pretty pricey relative to the air they shift...

I read that really you want to be replacing the air 3 - 5 times a minute, any of these would do this, and i am on a budget so im just wondering if its worth investing in the more expensive extraction fans. I was thinking about having a cheap PC fan at the bottom of tha cab sucking external air in, and having maybe a more robust UFO type on at the top with a carbon filter fitted inside the cab...would that make sense or wouldnt i really need the one at the bottom?
Was thinking also about what you said about the stretching under a hps, i did actually do a really ropey closet grow yonks ago with a 175W hps and stretch aint the word! To be honest im not completely convinced about this hps for veg growth, i mean its possible sure but it aint the right spectrum is it? As you said a switchable ballast with a 250 HM is a possibility but i heard that low watt MH are pretty innefficient, have you used them?
On the otherhand ive seen some awesome bushy veg growth with CFLs, when theres very little height the advantage of wider penetration of the HIDs isnt really an issue and i have seen grows on here with CFL veg and hps flower, what do zou think?
Ive even thought about going down to a 150 hps + 2 x 55w 6400K for veg, the cfls giving more cool light with the lumen oomph of the hps, then using the 150 hps + 2 x 55W 2700K for flowering...BAH, am i just being a complete muppet here or does that idea make any sense whatsoever?
