Well thought I'd post my progress so far since I've spent the last month or so reading on here and its helped so much.
I'm from Canada so it's legal to grow your own 4 plants so I ended up getting 4 clones off a friend for free and the original plan was just to grow them in my backyard. They are Cookie Kush indica strain and had very small roots when I got them. Put them in these coffee cans (bad idea I realise now) and moved them around inside and outside whenever they could get sun but stay above 70 degrees.
Well that didnt last long as the weather here was cold and wet most of June so instead of letting them die I bought a grow tent. 2x4 tent,600w viparspectra(100watt) and a viparspectra 450w (125w) burple lights off amazon and set up it. Had a few fans and carbon filter set up since first day as well. I had the lights at the very top and started an 18/6 hour schedule. I was running the lights in the day when I was at work and was getting too high of temps in the tent (90+) so I changed it to 5pm-11am. Much better now.
Have the plants in 10gal pots, I wish I did 5gal or 7 gal as they dont fit the greatest but I'm making it work. This is after one week of being outside/window sill
Bought General Hydroponics Floramicro, grow and bloom as well as calmag and started feeding them first water in the big pots.
My water is 250ppm and around ph7.8 so I'm using Ph downer. Now its 6 or sometimes 5.5
After wetting the soil with straight water 250ppm the first few feeds was around 400ppm as I used very little of each nute.
I messed up once and gave them 1250ppm once and got very small leaf burn. Got lucky
Now I give around 800ppm every other day (4gal of water, nutes altogether) or when soil isnt moist.
My stems are quite purple so maybe they are over fertilized?
