my plant no 2 groth is stunned, i checked the roots for the first time to know whats going on, there is no root growth !!!! barely coming out of the rockwool !! i start to worry now !!! i have no idea what to do ! i just dont want to lose the last hope !
Toss the rockwool. You put concentrated bennies in the rockwool and it is probably killing your roots. The black rockwool is bad. I have said this multiple times.
It is probably starving your roots for a air too. I use 6 inch net pots and my water was around 1-2 inches under the net pot. I have aggressive airstones so it's fine for my setup. It kept everything moist with dry top hydroton.
Never add concentrated nutes or bennies strait to the rockwool used for starting. It's fine in the rez, but can suffocate or poison your roots.
For starting, I use a full dose of rapidstart, a 1/8th dose of superthrive, and a 1/8th dose of armor si. I mix this 2 liters at a time for cloning and seeds. For seeds, I soak the rockwool in this solution then add it once a week with common tap water in between for my usual watering.
Other than that, the best advice I can offer is so simplify your method as much as possible. I top fed with a syringe and tap water for my plants. My water temps were in the 72-78 range and I practiced cleanliness using h202 35% to clean everything. My seedlings were fine. It wasn't till the roots were in the water that I had an issue.
So again, the best advice I can give it to remove the rockwool and gently clean your roots. Rapidstart will promote new root growth. Superthrive is packed full of vitamins and armor si makes your plant more resilient.
Your local hydro shop should be able to help you build a cloning/starting tray for around $25. Using that you can start your plants there and wait till you have roots leaving your starter media before planting in the hydroron. It will make life easier. But that part is up to you.
