Here is my homemade one, two of these will cool an insulated reservoir up to 16+ gallons in the middle of summer. I always set my temps at 66-68F, you can set it lower or higher. Also has a swing adjustment if you prefer it to run every so often.

Would latex tubing be alright to use with the peltier device water pump?

If low O2 is a big deal at 77F, just add more O2 to the res water. Ain’t nothing to that and problem solved without a high dollar water chiller of ice. Besides that, how in the world can you accurately diagnose low O2 if you don’t test the DO in the res water…. smell it, taste it, read the leave, guess or just wait till you see dead roots and fungal infestations?

I just set it in a position so the water block and peltier wouldn't move...if I moved it even an inch the block would move halfway off the peltier lol...I got a new heatsink last night and bolted the block down. Also they do have thermal epoxy you can use instead of the thermal paste, the only thing is that the epoxy is permanent.

Wow...I didn't think the 55w peltier would be powerful enough lol! I bought the 100w version and it was cooling down my 7g Rez no problem...I hate how all the big time guys on this sight immediately tell everyone to buy a chiller...I say fuck that.

Its rated as 60 watt however its powered by a 55 watt adapter, working great so far. Doesn't even run much, maybe 5 to 7 hours a day at most during the hottest day of summer. When you say chiller are you talking about a water dispenser? if that's the case then yea man what a waste..lol. I laugh every time i see people who buy the whole thing take it apart and make some complex gizmo when all they had to do is get a peltier cooler.

i said aquarium chiller cause i was chilling 55 gallons. i got sick of single buckets and built a rdwc.

And what do all these water chiller salesman tell you is the point of buying their water chiller besides making cold water and of course?

run exhaust outside, run lights at night, add beneficials to your res each week. That's how I solved my dwc heat issues and I live in a hot humid climate in your general region, my tents are in a metal shed no ac, no chillers, no ice, no rot, no thermometers

As an avid aquarist, I can recommend you look at non-submerged pumps, they pass some of the heat generated, to the atmosphere.
It gets quite hot here in summer, to the point that I disconnect the heaters on the tanks. I saw even a tiny 2W pump increase the water in its little tank.
If possible, you could relocate your reservoir away from the radiant heat sources in the tent. That should also help.
Another thing you could look for are some of the new brushless DC pumps for aquariums, they even soft start so you don't have to get creative to deal with startup current draw.
