Dwc help

Never really done DWC first attempt at it, grown in soil for many years wanted to try something new. But I’m having this weird symptoms pop up and no idea why. Roots seem healthy still white with a little brown I’m thinking cause of stain from the nutrients. Someone help me out lol.

Looks like the main stalk is damaged and repaired.
Also looks like I can see a thrip on one of your leaves in the picture along with signs of thrip damage (white spots). Have you looked very closely for bugs on the undersides of the leaves?
Got a pic of the res/roots?

I did some stress training to the stalk to bend it over and I thought about thrips too but I cannot find any, I’m not using a res right now just two five gallon buckets not connected. I have a res and two more buckets but didn’t wanna chance losing 4 plants lol. Would the stress cause that browning?

The point you bent it over was in the wrong spot. You basically just cut off everything above the bend point with no place of redirect to go. You want to do that a few nodes above. Then the plant can redirect its energies on lower branches while it heals that bend.
I agree, the roots dont look bad.
As for thrips, they will be VERY small and to the naked eye will look almost like microscopic maggots about the same in color too. You will see them move when they are disturbed. There will also likely be black microscopic dots on the white spot areas. If you have those signs, its surely thrips.
I'd also hold off on topping or bending until it has more new healthy veg growth.
Also, what nutes exactly are you using?

Veg, bloom, micro, FP, hydroguard, and root booster. I’ve had thrips before and I’ve won that battle, I know what they look like but I can’t find any on the plants. I’m trying to figure out the darker spots.

You using tap water?

Yes that I let sit in the sun to dissolve some of the shit they put in it.

Tap water is fine. I'd guess the damage you see if from the bend made on the main stalk. Like I had mentioned, just let it veg and bush out.
What ratios are you feeding it? Sure does look purple. Could be stress, could be an abundance of P.

Your roots are fine.

Imo they don't look too bad, image 2 looks like a bit of calmag may be needed as i have suffered with the same shit last 2 grows using AN sensi nutes, I too have come from soil (12 years) growing to rdwc. the most shocking bit for me was the speed of the growth in veg was explosive compared to soil and coir.

I would just get some calmag in there and let them grow for a week then top and do some light training.
I too use tap water as the water in my area is very good only 40ppm but it does need extra calmag as the base nutrients just do not have enough, In some areas tap water contains lots more calcium and magnesium so adding it is just not needed.

This is the first time I've seen problems with a plant in the early stages using dwc.
Are you using calmag, picture two is showing this resemblance.
Calcium and nitrogen are vital at this stage.
The bending of the leafs do look like a stress problem as mentioned above.
Let me say this, if the source can be rectified which is possible then remember this, plants grown in Dwc are more robust than soil grows, example; you could have a leaf showing some sort off symptom and the rest of the plant will still be thriving, it is weird and I don't know why this happens but could only be on the 1 leaf and none of the others.
And if you act quick providing what it needs it will revive quicker due to direct access to nutrients.
I have noticed with my plants that ( which I grow autos in Dwc)
Are so hardy I even trim all the way through the life cycle.
What is the temp of the water in the red?

Came home today and looked at my roots, more brown just not slimy like root rot should be. I think. Temp is about 22 degrees Celsius. I use 2 ml of cal mag to every gallon. Thanks for everyone’s help, this doesn’t work I’m going back to soil

Non organic nutes correct?

Correct I use general hydroponics with some of their additives.

With a steril res you shouldn't need to worry about root rot.
You sure on the temps of your res water, or are you guessing? Do you have a temp probe or some way to verify the temps to be accurate? Only reason I say is because testing with the "finger dip" test can be off by 10+ degrees easily.
Sterile res, proper temps, & no light in res are the basics to keeping root rot at bay. How much of the hydroguard do you use and how often? On topoffs and changeouts?

Yeah lol I got a temp reader normally at 20 to 23c. I just started using hydroguard but I switched from h202. H2o2 kept my roots white all the time, it’s when I switched to hydroguard they started to get brown like the picture. I use a 2ml a gallon. I change water once a week, I rarely top off because they don’t drink much. I start my ppms at 680 to 700 and that was on Friday, just checked ppms and it read 580 to 600. Should my water be up to the net pot or how low should it be? Thanks a lot for your help!

I run my water level about 1" or so below the bottom of the net pot. I'd suggest going back to the H2o2 if it were working well for you and problems didnt occour until after the switch to Hydroguard. I personally love h2o2 as it keeps my res squeeky clean, perks the girls up with a boost, and its so inexpensive to get 3% from just about anywhere.
Also, what additive are you using in your res to make the water a brownish color? IIRC you mentioned thinking it was your res water staining the roots or something along those lines..
GH for the most part is often pinkish in color after mixed with basic 3 part and depending on what additives/boosts etc.

Floralicious plus is what I think is causing the stain. H2o2 kills all bacteria though and I think this FP is suppose to be beneficial bacteria lol. Hydro is so fuckin hard tofully get a grip on
