DWC is the best, fastest and easiest way to go!

I have had success and failure using dwc. The big problem is nutes need to be checked daily for pH and EC/PPM, AND nutes need to be changed as the plants move from veg where they use the least mount of salts to bloom where they the suck up a ton of salts. As plants get biggr it's not good idea to lift the lid. F&D with an outboard rez gives the grower optimal control and ease over maintaining the salts

Thanks, so far no trouble with ph or nutes. Using R.O. water made a big difference to me. I monitor the ph and add flora and root enzymes like tarantula. healthy root growth. if it gets slimey I swap buckets. I did dirt and got more problems with bugs, ph, lock out. pita!
The growth rate is phenomenal!

I am ~ 5 weeks into bloom. Where my rez was constantly stable and checked daily (including yesterday when I had to adjust back down from 7.5 to 6.1), same issue this morning. I need to start checking/adjusting twice a day to assure at last 2 feeding pHs are where they need to be

For speed in veg nothing imo comes close to rdwc/dwc,
This is the only hydro method i have tried but i have friends doing other methods and they don't come close in veg for speed and size.

The main issue with dwc is nutrient temps and just like the plants grow fast the problems come on fast as well, But when you do have issues it is much easier to deal with in dwc as you have much more control over every aspect of the plant environment like roots.
If in soil you have over fed or are having nutrient problems it can take days to flush and get control of the problem but in dwc it is sorted in like an hour, just change the nutrient solution and your done.

IMO
Keep it chilled and keep it moving..

Water falling and flooming are much better at adding o2 to the water than bubbles.

Happy Growing Peace Out!

Thanks for the help. I tried soil and you are right it can be a pain to fix problems. I don't over fertilize and if the water or plants do show trouble, I will swap the nutrient solutions. I have massive roots , and my temps are from 75 to 85 . I black out in the evening and the temps go to about 70 , cool nights. I am just showing flowers , 1 week after the change.

DWC is the Bomb!

Just getting back into it after a few grows playing in the dirt and enough of that. Just not a decent dirt farmer.

I use RO too but also use pH Perfect nutes so don't need to bother with that. Just check and adjust the ppm every 3 days or so when I top up, change once after the stretch and they are so much easier than even soilless growing with so much faster growth. I use a DIY chiller to keep the nute temps around 65 so never have used bennies of any kind even for the first 10 years or so of DWC where I must have got lucky as only had root rot a couple times that I attribute to rooting clones in real dirt rather than the soilless mix I generally use. Heavy dosing with peroxide saved the plants both times with minimal impact on yields.

Your plants are looking fine!

dirt sucked for me , I tried them all. I had good results and sometimes they would just be too finicky. I got a R.O. filter and everything else is.....boom! I have never had the growth or speed like this. 24 on helps too. I started with 3.5 gal buckets but changed to 5 . Next time I may use a master tank and feed them all . Happy growing!

I've always used RubberMaid tubs. Veg in the shorter ones then just lift off the lids with the plants and put it on a taller tub to finish up flowering after the stretch. Will be doing them all ScroG so will have to either stay with the shorter tubs or do them in the taller from the beginning. The larger volumes keep top-ups to a minimum which is what I'll need once there are 4 tubs going at once.

Need my own RO unit too. Have a Polar Bear distiller I'm hoping to sell to finance the RO unit. Cost as much in electricity to make the distilled water as it costs for RO from the store at $3.49/5USG.

big tubs and nice roots . I made a miniature version for my clones. I bought a r.o. unit undersink for about 200. $ it reallyworks great , I am in Fla and the water sucked no good for growth. Too many minerals . here's my tub! I have clones in 3" pots 20171113_104027.jpg
