DWC or Granulated Rockwool in a closet

Hey everyone!

I need some opinions. Should I stick with DWC or switch to Granulated rockwool. Here it is...

I'm growing in (2) 70 x 48 x 20 cabinets. Currently I'm using one cabinet as a veg room with a cloning station in the upper right corner. The other cabinet i'm using as a flower room. In the veg, i'm running (2) 5 gallon DWC units and a (4) bulb T5 with (2) 6 inch fans. The temps are fine steady around 77 degrees. Temps in the DWC buckets are 72 degrees. In the Flower cabinet, i'm planning to use a 400w hps bulb going through a cooltube. A 30 gallon tote DWC unit with 2 plants in one tote. With the veg cabinet i've already run into problems. My roots started to brown up a little and I found spider mites. I'm thinking of ditching DWC and just do 2 plants in 5 gallon containers with Granulated Rockwool then transplanted to (2) 15 gallon containers.

If anyone has any ideas to make the space i'm working with yield the most. Appreciate it!

Dont ditch DWC. Spider mites are a problem but can be fixed my buddy Mike has some amazing stuff that is the only thing I've seen work on them bastards! give him a call at Grow Big Hydroponics in Machesney Park IL. Also A really good remedy for the veg plant roots that is a good trick that Ive used in the past is to put frozen water bottles in the buckets. Sounds crazy I know but it won't freeze the roots I promise. Just one bottle a day to keep the rot from continuing to form and if they're really bad and not too big you can spray the roots with plain water to get the biggest build up especially around the part thats the darkest and put them in a fresh bucket of PH adjusted water and let it aerate for a few hours and put in the bottle. Check it out and good luck with the mites. oh one more thing until you get something to kill the mites you wanna get as many off as possible. Wipe em off or spray until you get what you need. good luck

Appreciate the response!. So you wouldn't advise to switch to just growing in all clay pellets or granulated rockwool?
