DWC,, please help

Hey gardeners,, been looking at the dwc setup looks great
Not new to growing by any means looking to find a better way,, I understand the basics,,
Wanting to do a one bucket grow first time as an experiment
What size pot,, what size mesh basket,, what are good solid nutrients,, how often do you change the water,, does the air pump only run when your lights are on
Any feedback appreciated

6in net pot in a 5 gal bucket will do. I used AN Sensi, was OK.
Water change weekly. Air pump 24/7 - lots & lots of bubbles, it's hard to have too much air.
Remember DWC is not as forgiving as soil, & you'll need to keep a close(r) watch on Ph, PPM & water Temp

Been growing DWC in 5 gal bucket for a year my, here's my 2 cents.

drop the bucket for a larger tote, or be prepared to need to top off water daily. I just upgraded to a 18 gallon tote using 3" net pots. Air pump on 24/7.
Started out using Advanced Nutrients 3 part line of PH perfect. It works great for me up until 3-4 weeks in flower then i start to notice deficiencies. They sell more additives but its not cheap and I want to grow better than just decent flowers.
Switched to Jacks 3-2-1. It's highly rated on here, unlike AN, and so far seems to be working well.

The bigger the tote the better,5" net pot.Elevate with a drain is sure helpful.Or another hole in the lid and use a drill pump to drain.
The best way is 2 totes connected with a hose.Simple and easy to maintain.

Been wondering if you have to use aqua nutes
I can't get Jack's or megacrop were I am , was looking at Canna aqua A+B ?
& If 20-22 Celsius is the optimal temperature range,, what temperature is too high and too low for your water

& ,is there any starting point for nutes (ppm)

Example-|. So if I used Canna Aqua, & after mixed the ppm was 800 is that high enough,, my base water is rainwater and that is 65 ppm,

I understand observing the ppm is essential, & adjusting your mix to keep the ppm at the level the plant is happy with, but what should be the starting point ?

no offense to your abilities but try a Hempy bucket first. simple like soil but feed like hydro

if you are stubborn like i was, try dwc. the more water volume the easier your life will be.

really only 3 things. don't over feed, don't get root rot and keep your pH in range

Is that like great white or Mykos
If so would you run that in your res with the nutes full time ?

i've used pool shock and southern ag bennies.

each way is super easy

if i had a huge volume, pool shock for sure

Pretty much. I've been curious to try Recharge, but I only grow for personal use, so losing one plant in the cycle throws everything off for a couple months. Recharge is supposed to have a few different bennies, mycor, trico, and I don't recall what else beastie wise. I'm also just getting interested (a little) in semi-organic. I'm pretty happy with my current results, but I know I can do better. Maybe micro beasties are my answer.

A podcast I am listening to recommends that if you are going to use bennies in DWC, mix them into a fresh, no nutes rez for about half a light cycle and then back into their normal solution. I just have yet to get my hands on some and have a spare plant. So this is not confirmed, yet.
