No what hes saying is people use those in organic soils to synthesize the organic matter into food the plant can use.

Beneficials are still useful with synthetic nutrients. They act by competing for food sources with the bad stuff.
good to know, thanks man.

we just did a 6x6 scrog, got 19 oz dry weight. did a 20 day flush all leave were yellow and fall colors.
tga querkle was the strain, normally very earthy tasting. just tastes bad compared to the pro mix grow prior.
any where from 550ppm to 675 ppm on nutes. 6.8 ph and used GH flora series same as the pro mix grow.
only difference was no molasses. since i read it could cause root rot "pythium" in dwc.

so is my problem no sugars/carbs towards the end?
any clue why it would taste so different? thank for reading Odyssey grower.
I realize this thread is years old but people still reference older threads in search of answers. I have experienced this issue. I have asked forums and got the same sort of ill informed advice that is useless or actually worse than useless as is is bad information. I suspect Cal Mag. If your DWC is hyper aerated the plant will uptake more. The ppm of a hyper aerated DWC is around half of suggested "normal" parameters. I recommend for a reliable resource for DWC/RDWC you check out a YouTuber named HygroHybrid. He is a mature and knowledgeable DWC/RDWC grower that is all business with no BS.
