I don't know how many growing techniques there are for improving yield/footprint etc

Looking for advice on what I should do for my next run, (My second run) Still finishing up my first which is looking like this currently

@ week 6

I don't feel like I'm pushing them enough. I want something bigger and better.that is going to produce big fat colas. These colas are roughly the size of your index finger to your thumb if you pinch them in an "O" shape. For size comparison. 3 plants also, not just 1. I've counted the budsites (Tried) atleast 100 altogether in there. My guess is probably 130-140.

Which growing technique would I benefit the most from?

Also, I would love to grow SSDD by Bodhi, but thats conissiuer bud. It looks and sounds delicious. But I don't think it's going to grow enough bud for how long it takes to grow, I will run out of bud by the month after the harvest most likely.

All in all

Which strain do I grow?
What growing technique should I use?

Forgot to mention, my growing space is only 3x3x6 (ft).

another option was to flip the tent on its side for a SoG grow. But I don't know where I would find lights that are roughly 5ft long....

Have you considered a 315w LEC?

As for the size of the buds, man strain and genetics do play a larger role than most people want to consider or admit.

I would maybe in your shoes with what you are saying and your thoughts do an SOG run with a bunch of autos than produce well but you get to harvest fast. Strains like an AK 47/48, Incredible bulk, etc.

Looks good in there though and good luck.

Never considered it. Never heard of it either. Only lights I know of are, CFL, MH, HPS, LED. (MH+HPS named the golden standard, so just went with)

With autos? how would that work? I'd like to take clones off a mother instead of paying out alot for a batch of auto seeds, ill take a look though

thanks alot man! I'll take what you said onboard and have a read through

I'm going to be honest here, if I had done some more research first, the larger tent I am about to setup would be getting a 315w CMH LEC light. The 20"x36" needed and is benefiting from the Tasty LED cob light I am running in it now (T2-2100). I also just received my T4-1750 Tasdty LED COB's, and there is NOTHING wrong with those lights, I just would have given the LEC a run first to be able to compare to the LED. The more I read about them the more intrigued I am and for a $400 or less solution I like the results I see others getting with them. Look for the grow's by @Bad Karma and @hyroot just to name a couple, there is also a thread specifically for these in the LED section:

As for the autos, yeah you can't take moms or clones. but on average you're at 8-9 weeks from seed to harvest. Some strains out there can be as fast as 6 weeks. I have my first auto seedling kicking and the second bean (different strain auto) just popped. I myself am considering an SOG style run for my next grow with a bunch of my auto fem seeds. But we will see I will most likely end up with a poll in my grow log for the next grow as I have acquired some long awaited and searched for stuff and now don't know which to do first.

A lot of the older guys on here trash newbs (like me) on the autos' but in my opinion they do serve a purpose for certain applications.

"for me" it's a way to get some medicine sooner rather than later I don't have to keep paying stupid prices from risky sources for unknown strains. This also let's me take my time with what I consider the main part of my grow which are the two larger plants. Since my autos will be done most likely before the other two big plants I will not feel as much of a need to rush those hence less of a chance of getting anxious and messing up my potential yield there when what I am trying to do is maximize them.

Also I feel for perpetual style grows the auto's can make more sense from what I have seen so far. I will be growing mine in fox farms soil which should not need any nutes added for the short life of an auto. We will see in about 5-6 weeks lol.

Anyhow to make a long story short it's a recommendation for you to look into. I am new as well so just read up and take in the info. There are many ways to achieve what you're looking for.

This is the light in my 20"x36":

And I got (2) of these one will be going in my 2'x4' to see how I like it, if that size tent works good with this light I will setup a second identical tent (most likely) for my veggies and herbs, and this way I also have a backup light.

If I had gone with the 3x3 tent I would most likely have gone with this light:

Good luck man and cheers!
