speaking of which. if i use those 27gal tuff boxes id imagine i could fit 25 gal inside.

my water is 75F with lights on. does anyone have a good calculator on how big a chiller id need for a -10delta t on 200 gallons?

Darkstar - Was at 420/5.8 last night. 630/4.5 today. Changed the res and set feed at 380ppm with 4ml/gal 2-0-0 magical and 8ml/gal 0-5-6 boost. 1-5-6 ratio. Trying not to give too much N at this stage.


Stinkbomb - Was at 390/5.8 last night. 430/5.4 today. Added a gallon of tap water which brought ppm down to 350 and pH to 5.8 - just left it like that figuring for a rise tonight.
 
Hi First,I'm going to try to get a pic tomorrow,They look alike some the edges you talked about,mine aren't curling quiet as much.I got 2 bag seed in 1 bucket & the bucket was full of roots and I can't keep water in it. I like you are trying to get it to keep growing to get some size on the buds..I want to fix a tub similiar to yours to hold 4-6 plants. Just messing
around to get through the heat.I know I will not hold off to long,but I'd like to have everything ready by aug 1st.I want to insulate some more buckets,I can't believe the job that does.If I
had not done it I would not believe it,I went wild with newspaper around the bucket then
some tin foil & it's like magic keeps it cool,I feel sure it dropped the temp by at least 5*.

So while defoliating last week i saw a leaf that was shriveled and brown and looking at the bud it didnt look healthy. I snipped it off and the bud fell apart easily and inside it was brown and moldy so I put it in garbage disposal.

Been keeping a close eye on things. Now today I found another bud like that. Snipped it off and same deal.

Is this plant toast or are other nugs salvagable? Never experienced this before. Its definitely bud rot. I washed my hands and went back in and all the other nugs look healthy. Tried pulling them apart and they seem tight and secure.

Room is around 55% RH. I cranked dehumidifier as low as it can go so I hope to get it below 50%.

I should be harvesting this week as today is day 63 and its a 70 day strain.

This sucks...Basically what im asking is if this plant is a goner. Or can bud rot affect just a couple buds?

I got RH under 50%

I hear this works from inside out. When trimming if I separate the buds from the main stalk and dont see any mold is it safe to assume the bud is good? Or could it also be within that bud?

I just dont want to smoke mold is all. Nor do I wanna jar rotting buds with healthy buds.

Strange. The only time I got bud rot was when water was actually dripping on my plant. This is also a strain specific trait; I've tossed some strains because they kept getting it when their neighbors didn't.
 
Well I left for vacation Monday morning to come home early on Wednesday night to a room at 70% RH. Apparently my dehumidifier hose kinked while I was gone. It was bone dry Monday.before I left and takes 24hrs to fill so at most it was like that from Tuesday morning until Wednesday night. Less than 48hrs

I have since gotten humidity to 50-60%. The controller is set to turn on at 60% and runs until its 50%. I now have controller at 50%. Which means it runs non stop.

This was on my Darkstar. Two small.colas not getting air circ in the middle of the screen. Stinkbomb appears to be healthy.

Going to chop em tonight.

I just hope it doesnt spread. Not sure how mold works...apparently the spores are wverywhere but only grow when conditions are right?

I have a 50-100x one that needs batteries I cannot find for.

but yeah the moldy buds i found were pretty easily found. im just worried about the stuff I cannot see. like inside the buds.

i usually cut and hang the plant to dry but I may be forced to cut bud by bud.
 
yeah, i would check them all. better safe than sorry. you can kinda peel them apart and check the center of the buds.
will be time consuming but better than possibly smoking mold.
 
Got hit with bud rot for the first time ever myself, It's been humid as fuck and of course I made things worse by not monitoring humidity and forgetting to turn off the pump in the swamper that cools that tent. Usually out here you can get by without a dehumidifier but the past few years that's not been the case.

Lost the entire top of one plant. Haven't really looked at the rest but it appears to be only that one plant., chopped them hung them and haven't looked at them since.
 
yeah the humidity has been bad here. House is like 75% besides the air conditioned areas.

I chopped the Stinkbomb last night. Did a wet trim. The bud formation was so bizzare with tons of foxtailing going on. Sativa dominant so I was probably early on the chop but didnt want anything spreading.

Checked on the Darkstar. No more rot as of yet. Pulled apart some of the top colas to see the stem inside. Looks good. Smells even better.

Chopping it later tonight. I was told to cut bud by bud and let it dry that way. Ive done long dries with the whole plant hung and ive done quick dries bud by bud...never noticed a big difference.
 
after I chop.im going to wash the walls and floor with some bleach water and put them back in the room so my bedroom doesnt reak(only other conditioned room in the house)

wanted to use this "green cure" product but my hydro store dodnt have it. they had something similar for $35 a tiny 250ml bottle if that. Screw that. Main ingredient was palm oil which is mega cheap.

Green Cure is horticultural soap and potassium bicarbonate.
 
It was recommended to me so I figured while I was there picking up nutes id try and find it.

Its apparently food safe. Bleach and water seems cheaper imo. Though i wouldnt wanna spray bleach on my plants.

But i wasnt planning on using it on plants just to clean the room and kill any spores that may have blown off those two nugs.
 
Chopped Darkstar today. Didn't find one piece of mold. I wet trimmed them both. But I have some branches non trimmed hanging to compare.

Going to take a break for a little bit now that my jars are full. Focus on what I have in veg atm that is just way too big to flower. Im going to find out which ones are females and clone them.

Picked up some new nutrients yesterday. One day I will learn to mix my own @ttystikk

I also have some room modifications I was waiting on doing as it involves cutting into the walls and I didn't want drywall dust and paint chips all over my buds.

Hopefully I can get better at growing and sort out my issues. It is so easy to become complacent growing OK plants and getting OK yields and for a while I was like that, now I want to learn more and improve on what I already know. I think bigger reservoirs (rdwc) will help this. I bust my ass too much in flower with 72hour res changes. And it'd be nice to just check one reservoir. And not to mention the pH and EC swings.

I will create a new thread once I get shit sorted out. Mid to late August i'll have my RDWC up and running. I'm thinking (2) 4 sites as spending the last 5 hours trimming one plant made me realize I do not want to have to cut down 8 at a time, dont have time for shit like that.

I'll be around the forums, just won't be posting updates on this thread.
