DWC Underwater or Overwater?? Please Help Quick!!!

I have some plants vegging in a DWC that I just put in their. They started out as clones in the small rockwool cube, I transplanted into the 4'' cube when the roots starting coming out of the bottom of the cube. I then manual watered the 4'' cubes until roots started popping out of the bottom of those. This is when I put them into the DWC. All my plants are going well except for one of them. I have the plants in a 5'' net pot filled with about a 1 1/2 of clay pebbles, the 4'' cube on top of the pebbles, then filled in the sides and top with pebbles. The water level is about 1'' up on the bottom of the net pot, not even touching the rockwool, and there is no sign of roots coming out the bottom of the net pots either. Is this too much water in my res even though its not touching any of the rockwool??

I also am using 3 12'' waterstones for aeration. Thanks

I think too much water. Drop the level so that it is just touching the bottom of the net pot when the bubbles break. Once you start to see root growth, drop the level to 1 inch under the net pot.

It's been about 12 hours since I lowered the water level and the one plant got a tad bit worse. How long until it shows signs of recovery? I'm a little nervous because this was my best plant. I hear others say that they revive pretty quick whenever a under or over water occurs. But then again I'm not sure how long "pretty quick" may be??

Ok so I took that plant out and checked the rockwool and it was bone dry. So I watered it by hand, hopefully that will do the trick. When should I see an improvement?

if i have seedlings or a plant without a healthy root structure my water level is touching my rockwool, and as they grow i drop it down

Ok well thanks for all the advice, but we were all wrong. I finally took the one plant out that was doing the poorest and I noticed that all my beautiful bleach white roots had about a thousand aphids on them. I then checked the other plants and it was the same thing, a shitload of them everywhere. So my only thoughts were to act quickly and chop em down and throw them in the cloner with clonex root gel and solution. I trimmed a little bit, do you think these will survive for how big and bushy they are??

should I top these things? trim them more? I already cut a lot of the lower leaves in half. I really hope this works out because I have some really good strains

If you have good water/nute aeration, it wont matter what level it is.

Its gonna be fine either way.

The plant is probably in shock.

I hope you scrubbed the shit out of your bucket before putting them clones in it.

Ya I did scrub the bucket before. The only thing I was worried about was that I didnt take a clipping off each plant, they all had about 3'' of bare stem until any type of growth, so I just cut the plants down to where it went into the rapid rooter cube, then I scraped away to expose some of the inside of the stem since there wasnt a node that I could have pulled down to expose the stem that way. Hope this works!!! keeping my fingers crossed
