Sooo, pretty much what the title says, whats better? What grows faster? Do they produce the same? If they produce the same and (speed wise and yield wise) than why even bother with the aero where you have to add a water pump and sprayers etc..???? I will be going hydro as soon as my mother grows and I will be choosing between the 2 methods so just trying to figure out whats best. Thanks guys

Aero does grow faster and if done correctly produces more yield.Both are excellent growing methods.I prefer aero as its so easy and fast
Thanks for the replies fellas, Just wondering how when the appreciation threads came up (people saying they like their system) no one said they like their aero, some even said it was just a learning exp. and they moved on, but in the DWC appreciation thread everyone posted they loved it? I think DWC is easier, aero is more for someone who knows whats going on. I want to try aero but I know Ill probably screw it up, so Im going with DWC for some experience with hydro.
I don't understand how aero is suppose to be for more exp. people, DWC you just set up the air pump and let the bubbles work, aero you just setup the system so it sprays the water constantly and add a water pump? (although if I do aero, i'll prob end up putting a air pump and stone in it anyways) Aren't they both fairly easy concept wise? Sorry if I am mistaking, I just don't see how it's suppose to be harder?

Being kind of new, Ive done a lot of reading and from my personal experience, albeit little, DWC seems pretty problem free as long as you keep PH/nute levels in order, and of course have proper lighting etc...
I think eventually Ill switch to aero, then go with whatever works better/produces more.

I never have tried to move my 28 site aero setup once its going that would be a hell of a trick.You as I do should make a small trolley from a piece of ply wood and some cheap caster wheels so you can just roll it around for dwc.Cost about $12 bucks if even and only adds about 2 inches of height

If you are interested in hydro and growing more than two to four plants, i recommend you go with an aero set-up. you are right - conceptually they're the same and bad things can happen just as quickly with aero as with DWC. As others have said, plants grow faster and give better yields using an aero system.

why would you move dwc you can hook a pump to your tubs and pump out the water in a coulpe of min i never move my tubs

i like DWC so far...pretty easy...just watch your ph/ppms and temps....I would like to give aero a try ...but Im still reading up on it.

I wouldnt say areo is faster and gives bigger yeilds im yeilding 2 lbs every 60 days off of one 1000 watter and have yeilded 2 pounds and 13 ounces before off of one 1000 watter all DWC. It all comes down to healthy plants brand new light bulbs every round vegging 24hrs in the begining lots of co2 having no bugs at all knowing when to feed your plants and how much fert your plants can take in different stages of there life and one other thing changeing your resivor often i change mine every 5 days and most of all having perfect climate control theres a lot of hydrophonics systems out there the trick is knowing how to get the most out of your plants and your equipment hope this helps some of you peeps

I agree that the key to success is the 1000w and fresh bulbs over either system and knowledge of your system and of course experience.
i do wonder though, all things being equal, which would grow faster and yield more. I won't even pretend to know the answer.

master growers know how to push there plants to the limits. I like to think of dwc/areo as boost/nos to your plants heres a pic of my plants speeding to big fat colasAttachments
wouldn't need airstone and water pump, the DO created from the aero sprayer dripping back into the resivour would be enough.
