i kinda feel the opposite tbh. The roots make more of a pyramid/cone shape and spread out in the totes.
Most of my roots are nearly outgrowing their 3.5 gal veg buckets by flip. They are more likely to grow to the shape of the bucket and I usually have a few that have roots that are similar to a tuna can when I pull them out lol. Buckets are fine if you want to keep your plants a bit smaller than what I did this crop. My roots would have been stuffed into a 7 gal container.
Ill tell you this though. I did not check for venturing roots 1 single time during during this 3 month flower cycle and didnt have many adventuring roots when I pulled them out.
