DWC white dwarf grow

After many years of outdoor growing, circumstances have forced me to move indoors. I have done a few indoor grows before, but they all used soil, and i decided to make the move to hydro. After more research than i care to admit to here, I settled on a DWC setup to get my feet wet. Seemed the easiest system to start out on. After building that system up, I ordered some white dwarf fem seeds, banking on a quick harvest and a simplified approach due to the lack of a veg phase. The problem is this, the seeds arrived without the usual recommended growing instructions I always got with my outdoor seeds. I searched this site and a few others and have been baffled by the different, often contradictory, info about this, and other, autoflowering strains.
So I'm putting out the call for someone who has grown this strain, in this (DWC) manner.

1-light sched...so far i have been told 18/6...20/4...24/24.

2-nute sched...when to start...how much to start with and when and how much to up the mix. Seems like with a very short grow cycle this is a very important point.

3-possibility of cutting clones...been told you cant do it...been told you can but its difficult... been told you can, with a high success rate, if you cut very early (before plants show sex).

So there it is, my complete question list. If there is someone out there with the right exp, please help. I don't want to seem like an ass, but i don't want to hear what your friend said that he/she heard a buddy of his/hers say. I need experienced help. And if by chance anyone reading this needs some knowledge on outdoor grows, don't hesitate to ask, I did that for damn close to 20 yeaars and have that sorted out pretty well.

I have the same question for teh lighting.. even though I was advised 18/6... I want to do 24/0 so i settled with 20/4....

The second part you put your nutes in when they have atleast 4 leaves.. sepearate leaves...

if this is an autoflower white dwarf.. you cannot clone.. other than that.. you lost me...

I have been growing autoflowering strains for over a year now in a perpetual grow room. I have always gone with Lowryder 2's until recently, but most autoflowers are close to the same with the conditions they like.

1- I've always gone with 18/6 because I believe that even though autoflower will flower no matter what, they need time to rest. Plus the joint doctor who is the creator of Lowryder, recommends this. If you go lower than 18 on, your yield will be less.

2- Autoflowers for the most part usually don't like too much nutes. I don't give any nutes for the first 3 weeks of the plants life, just water and a little thrive alive (b1 vitamins). Then I start out with 1/4 strength grow nutes for about 2 weeks along with 1/4 strength micronutrients, a little bloom nutes and the thrive alive. Weeks 6-8 I give 1/4 strength grow, 1/2 to full strength bloom nutes, and thrive alive, micronutes, and soluble silicate concentrate which helps makes the plants stronger and helps with any heat stress or other stress. The soluble silicate concentrate, and the micronutes I use are not for every watering so make sure you look at the label. I use Earth Juice organic nutrients which work for me, and the schedule I use can vary obviously depending on the plants sizes and needs. Plus I like earth juice because it says right on the bottle (and I've experienced), that you can't nute burn your plants. The excess just sits there waiting to be used, or is flushed out with the next watering. For soil I use Bio Bizz All Mix and I absolutely love it. I used cheap soils in the beginning and once I switched I noticed a huge difference.

3- I've never tried so I have no idea. If you're going to try it the only thing I'd suggest is to only take one or two from each plant because they don't branch out as much as larger regular strains do. With LR2's I usually get the main cola, and 4-6 side branches which would be your clones. They usually don't react well to fimming or pruning due to the short life cycle.


Everything I wrote is from what I've experienced so things may be a little different for you depending on conditions. Hope it helps. Oh yeah, I have some white dwarfs fem at 7 days, some afghan kush ryder fems 7 days, and some LR2's of course at different stages going right now. I'm following the same schedule that I follow with my LR2's so far and they're doing great. Is it your understanding that the white dwarfs are white widow crossed with ruderelis?

What others have/are you growing? I have become pretty facinated with the autoflowers since being forced inside. I was looking at some AK and Blueberry hybrids and they looked interesting. I have quite a bit of exp crossing outdoor strains, even have a couple of strains that I've bred myself that have gained some local notoriety, so why not do the same with these? I've been scouring the internet for info but actual exp with the breeds is so much more helpful.

Well like I have some White Dwarfs going right now and some Afghan Kush Ryders, both are just under 2 weeks old. I'm not sure what the thc is on the WD's, but on the packaging of the AKR's it says they are 22%. LR2's are 12-14%. I don't know what the WD's are. The AKR's seem to be a little more temperamental than the others but not too bad. I've heard the Blueberry crosses are a little bit too. I myself have also become a fan of the autos. I like it that you don't have to either switch your whole room to 12/12, or have 2 different rooms like with regular strains. So perpetual harvest is very easy.

Dang right...and i just can't seem to rid myself of the idea of crossing my BigFoot Skunk to one of these. Cant seem to find any info on the ruderelis online so I have no idea of how dominant that trait is. Of course I could just keep backbreeding it til I get it but that can take several generations to get right. Keep me posted on your grow and I'll do the same. I am currently doing a grow journal on a different board so I don't think I'll do one here but I could post a few photos for you to see. BTW, when you start your seedlings out how far below the netpot to you leave the water...I think I set mine a bit high and it has stunted them a bit.

I am a soil man so I can't really help you there. Haha....I'm a soil man ba ba bum ba ba ba bum I'm a soil man.
