the foliage pro is a better option than grow.

the FP still needs an occasional shot of cal/mag if you are using RO
thanks for the info i am just using tap water do you think i could still benefit from the cal mag or will it lock things up? My strains are bubba og and remo chemo

Do you think this is a good line for fox farm soil or do you no something easier i am a beginner i always get lock out in mid flower.
does fox farm soil already have nutes in it?

i use the foliage pro in hydro when i start seeds and for little seedlings.

then i switch to GH maxibloom for the rest of veg and all of flower. dry nute that works great and is cheap too. GH floranova bloom would be my second choice.

i only do hydro for cannabis though. i use organic nutes in my veggie garden (soil)

I use foilage pro for my peppers that are in a mix of coco and some kellogs patio plus (which is ass imo, btw), so you'll be fine to start using it in flower when your soil starts to shit the bed for nutes. If you're worried, just start with 1/4 - 1/2 strength feedings and see how the plant responds.

Habanero's, bells, and trin scorps all getting the foilage pro in patioplus /coco mix. Green, healthy, happy, and growing right along.

I've never needed calmag with DG (or any plant food that already contained calcium) when using RO or tap.

I think that nutrient chart posted above sucks. You don't need hardly any of those products in general outside of a FP, bloom, or grow, depending on whether you're in soil or hydro AND they're suggesting doses that will burn your plants over time.

i totally agree with you. I use FP only with r/o and never need cal/mag. In their defense,in the fine print. it says to use it as a guide only.

They're not the only offenders of nutrient schedules that run hot. I've never quite understood that. I know in theory we'd use more food more frequently possibly causing us to buy more plant food over time BUT we'd also be fudging up our plants and would probably be more likely to switch plant foods because growers love to blame the products instead of themselves, lol.

fox farm indeed has nutrients loaded it in for the initial weeks. so if you do feed, you'll want to feed at a lower rate eventually. go with just pH'ed water for the first week or two as the soil has food, and then you can begin your regiment about 1/4 strength while the soil continues to lose nutrients. eventually you can increase the dose of your bottle nutrients to adequate levels.

when you're ready to come over to the dark side (organics) we'll be waiting..... :fire::fire::fire:

I read somewhere that 85% of new growers fail and quit after the 1st grow...thats a lot of 1st grows, a lot of influential-able people buying a lot of stuff.

I know this thread goes back a few months but I'll chime in.
Fox farm soil has a ton of nitro in it. Wait at least 3 weeks before starting any nutrition. Once the nutes in the soil are used up then start feeding with Dyna Gro Protekt and Foliage Pro. Use about 2 to 2.5 ml of Protekt per gallon and about 3 ml of Foliage Pro per gallon. Your ph will be a lil high after that so bring it down with Mag Pro instead of ph down. Just a drop, about 1 ml per gal should do it.

If I was growing in soil, I'd probably use a synthetic urea based fertilizer like jacks classic or miracle grow. Of course I'd stat off by building the soil rich with organic matter and only start feeding jacks when the soil started to become depleted.

Nitrate based fertilizers will work in soil, but then I'd wonder why you're not just using a hydroponic medium or potting mix (coco or peat without lime or organic matter).

I used FF Trio for 3 runs (1 bottle worth) I noticed that you need to hit with calmag+ a few times during to avoid deficiencies. Also its a synthetic so it builds salt, so a flush treatment is needed when switching to flower, as well at the end. Old post just wanted to ring in.
As far as the hydro nutrients for a soil, they should work, just not as well as something that is designed for soil. Reasoning behind this is because hydro nut's dont have all the substrate amendments that soil nut's have to help you soil thrive. I suggest running coco with some FF mixed in 60coco/40FF (you can always ADD amendments to the mix to help) if you want to use hydro stuff and already have the soil too 1 block of coco will be just fine, you can probably use half TBH. I bought an 11lb brick that I just chip off as I need.

Yes. It works fine. I've used thier foliage pro and protekt and rooting concentrate.
